AGs that play in 19th century Britain?
I'm a bit addicted to the 19th century in Britain, so I wonder if you have some suggestions of games that are situated in that era and region. Of course there are the Sherlock Holmes games, but what else is out there?

AGON-The London Scene is just around the turn of the 19th/20th century, 1903. (Part of The Mysterious Codex too).

I think pretty much all have been mentioned but at times Gray Matter felt like being in 19th century (or early 20th century perhaps) England due to all the beautiful old buildings and interiors like the manor and church.

P.S. The underwater maze in this game is the worst I've seen since the abbey forest maze in Sherlock Holmes: Secret of the Silver Earring .

I am going to name you the best game taking place in the victorian setting;
Sherlock Holmes and the case of the serrated scalpel. Something tells me when you mentioned SH in your opening post you were referring to the Frogware games. But play this one, it's amazing. You can also try its sequel SH and the case of the rose tattoo.

I'd go for the sequel, The Case of the Rose Tattoo. Much better in every way. IMO.

Yes, Scratches takes place around the 70's.
The Gene Machine is the essential Victorian adventure. Very, very underrated. |

80 Days and other games based on the Jules Verne stories, look for them. I will think this over and see what I can come up with. It is a good topic for that era is perfect for game stories, i am sorry more have not been done for it.

I did play Voyage and I tried The Secret of The Nautilus but that one crashed all the time. And of course I also played both Return to Mysterious Island games, though they don't play in the 19th century.

80 Days
Developer: Frogwares Game Development Studio Publisher: Tri Synergy Inc. Year Released: 2005 is set completely in the era you seen, the end of the 1800s, with an explorer and gentleman who travels via many of the mode of Victorian era, with lots of exotic locations, not as much in good old England as you may wish, I am still thinking of others, there must be some but this is strongly in that period that you seek. If you seek adventure and action, the Total War games have several titles set in that era, early part of it, and you see plenty of military action but not much of the scenery or story. Empire Total War and Napoleon Total War are two. many of the titles there are, are war/strategy...here are some....from the 1800s Secret of the Silver Earring Ubisoft Pardox Strategy Pack Atari Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper Dreamcatcher Alter Ego Viva Media War and Peace 1796 - 1815 Microids Deadtime Stories Oberon Media The Chosen Got GAme Sherlock Homlmes Jack Ripper and Nemisis Dreamcatcher Mystery of the Mummy American conquest Divided Nation Freddy Pharkas Frontier Pharmacist Mystery of the Nautilis Adventure Company Victoria An empire Under the Sun Consacks II Battle for Europe Code of Honor 2 Conspiracy Island City Interactive
