I never played 7th Guest or 11th Hour or most of the Myst-like games, and I'm not planning to. I also played through The Last Express using a walkthrough. I think Roberta Williams is a really bad game designer. Oh, and the most important one: I hate Samorost. |
I have bought, played and finished 'The Final Cut' and 'Belief + Betrayal'.
|
I hate all the games of Broken Sword

Well this is my kind of topic Attachment 2945
Where do I start: *Well I never managed to finish Dreamfall, because I got a new computer, got rid of the old one, and didn't want to go through almost the whole game again. One of my biggest sins Attachment 2947 :\ I really hope I'll play it again, and finish it this time. *I find both GF and DotT to be hideous :r (no offence to people who like it) *I still didn't manage to find time to play both Gabriel Knight and Broken Sword series. Attachment 2947 I really ought to play them soon :D *I use walktroughs from time to time if I really get stuck :frusty: *When I don't have much time to play real AGs I quite enjoy playing casual games *I never finished Post Mortem because it got too boring for me Quote:

I've tried to play Bad Mojo, but never managed to like it.
I've only played five minutes of Sam & Max Hit the Road, then I had to quit since it was so boring. I like Sadwick's voice in The Whispered World. I love mazes! :D |

I haven't played some of the LucasArts classics like Day of the Tentacle, Maniac Mansion, or Sam and Max Hit the Road.
Also, I don't think Telltale's work is all that great. They hit the nostalgia but the gameplay is very dumbed down, at least in my limited experience. |
Man, there are a lot... Never played Last Express, Still Life, and several older games. I tried Tex Murphy but my computer doesn't like it, and never tried Dreamfall or Broken Sword 3 and 4 because of the action/interfaces. I couldn't work out Myst!
Aaaand.... I thought the last two Simon Sorcerer games were okay... Quote:

Ah, I forgot this one:
I didn't much like Goblins 3!! :\ :frown:  :frusty: And this one: The graphics were the only thing I liked about Book of Unwritten Tales. |
My biggest sin is that I peek in the walkthrough a bit too much often when I have the game with intriguing and tense story on hand.
My second biggest sin is that I'm absolutely spoiled by visual appearance of the particular title because of what I still haven't played hailed-by-many titles like Gabriel Knight, Grim Fandango and Discworld Noir. Thank God that remastered versions of the first two Monkey Island games came out. :) |

And the music! Oh, well, the look, the music, the whole thing. The only thing that still drives me nuts is trying to get up a certain doohickey and out of the ocean. |

These have pretty much been mentioned already but
*Never played the GK games or The Last Express *I use walkthroughs more often than I should or at least UHS *I enjoy Escape From Monkey Island & Monkey Kombat :P *I often use God Mode in action games I don't consider playing casual or HOGs a sin. I enjoy them too. Never thought I would, but I'd never make the mistake of putting them in the adventure game genre. |

I want a 3-way with Guybrush Threepwood and George Stobbart :)

Not many game specific sins as I tend to like most adventure games... well, how about that I didn't like Myst and similar puzzle-esque games that feel a bit empty to me?
My main sin is that I use a walkthrough for nearly every AG, usually for logic puzzles that my brain tend to seize up on. Games like Gray Matter and Broken Sword I I didn't need a walkthrough for though. :D |
*I never finished The 7th Guest because I couldn't get past the blobby microscope mini-game.
*I didn't really enjoy and didn't finish The Longest Journey. *I didn't really enjoy and didn't finish Syberia. *I think the reason for the previous two is that (with the exception of The Lost Crown) I don't care for third person games. *I'm not above using a walkthrough if I get stuck to the point of frustration. *Bittersweet game endings sometimes make me tear up. *I occasionally use Nigel Danvers phrases in conversation with strangers in the hopes they'll notice and we'll talk adventure games. So far no one has noticed. That's all I can think of for now. :P |
Got bored of "Syberia".
Could not get into the humor of the "Monkey Island" games or "Grim Fandango". I will never hesitate to use walkthroughs, since I play for the story/characters, and if I get stuck on a puzzle to long, it stops being enjoyable. Non-Adventure related: I disliked "Morrowind/Oblivion", "Dragon Age", and "Beyond Good and Evil". |
I can second some of these. I liked Monkey Island 4, though I admit it was the weakest game of the original series. And I agree about Roberta Williams, though I might replace "bad" with "overrated". Also, Sadwick's voice was perfect for his character.
And a few new ones: I liked the endgame puzzle of Obsidian. And had no trouble with Sanitarium's endgame. Black Mirror and The Moment of Silence seem to be beloved by a lot of adventure gamers, but I found them to be average overall. I have never been able to get into the RHEM games. (Which is a major problem for a guy like me who normally loves that sort of game.) |
