I voted both, because I enjoyed both tremendously. My first Sierra game was King's Quest 4, and I was hooked terribly from there. First LucasArts was The Secret of Monkey Island. I actually played through a demo of that game maybe 10 times before someone bought it for me out of pity. Clever, clever LucasArts...
I always liked the fact you could die or get stuck in Sierra games - made you really vested in the character, no more just "click everything, do everything" ... you had to think critically, and often quickly. But I loved them all... |

Space Quest, Gabriel Knight, Leisure Suite Larry , these are the games that got me into adv games so i would have to say sierra even though i voted for both because both are equally great, it really depends which company hooked you in first.
Also gotta give props to the dig, sam and max, full throttle and day of the tentacle. I'd say both companies are evened out. ahh now i dont know which one i like more |

I like both. Dott, Sam n Max, Indy, Grim Fandango, Gabriel Knight, King's Quest, Space Quest, Quest for Glory... They each offer something uniquely different. LucasArts has more comedy, which is great, while Sierra tends to have more serious adventuring mixed in with their comedy. (Also great.)
The death thing in Sierra games never bothered me. You save often, and occasionally die. No different than most non-adventures. It is a nice change of pace in the LucasArts games, though. |

I've always been more of a sierra "fanboy".
I started to play point and click adventure games in 1993 and my first adventure game was Leisure Suit Larry 6 and it was love from the first sight. Anyway i like serious adventure games more than funny comical adventures of lucas arts but sierra can give funny adventures too like Al Lowe games and Space Quest's. Gabriel Knight 2 is not only my favorite adventure game it's my favorite game. Last edited by MakeMonroe; 08-31-2006 at 12:38 PM. |
