So you don't mind a dialogue heavy game, as long as it's a detective adventure game?
If that's the case then I would suggest Discworld Noir. Edit: Oh yeah, give people a chance to answer you before bumping your thread - a hour and twelve minutes seriously isn't enough time!

Some older puzzle games: 11th Hour - 7th Guest - Clandestiny - Jewels of the Oracle - Safecracker
More recent: Puzzle Bots - Puzzle Agent 1 + 2 - Safecracker (2006) A few detective/Murder mysteries: Tex Murphy (this weekend very cheap at GOG.com) - Black Dahlia - Noir: A Shadowy Thriller - Still Life - Conspiracies 1 + 2 - all the Nancy Drew games, and of course lots of other Sherlock Holmes adventures. |

Secret Files series
Lost Horizon Chronicles of Mystery series (not the hidden object spin-offs) Gray Matter Memento Mori All are modern with newer graphics, simple UIs, and have a mysterious feel to them. Go to the review area of this site, sort by ratings, then anything usually **1/2 or above is worth a look, but since they have release dates listed you can pick out the newer games. |

I suggest you take the suggestion of Safecracker (the newer one, not the 90s one); play it; come back and let us know what you thought.

Still Life 1 is a great game. The sequel i didnt like too much! Try playing Return To Mysterious Island. Or Dreamfall if you like easier games with good story!

Black Mirror 2 is good, in some ways it is better than the original in that it has a larger variety of locations. It actually feels like two games separated into two halves or did to me at least. Haven't played BM3 yet, waiting for the price to go down.
