Default Haunted

It's a new game from Deck13 (read preview here). The game had a troublesome history, but now it's due for release August 19 in Germany. Hopefully, we'll see an English version some time in the future.

If you can understand German, the demo has just been released - Haunted demo - 1.1 GB

Cool. I don't speak German
Looks a lot like Jack Keane, which isn't surprising since it's the same company. Nice graphics, hope the writing has improved

There should be some good news relating to an English-language release in the not-too-distant future. That's all I can say for now, but there's something in the works.

I did ask them if there will be an english version of the game. They told me that there will be ona later in the year by Mamba games (probably meaning Lace Mamba Global). SO all we have to do is wait and be patient.

Ooh... You might share the information with us, we won't tell anyone.

Any German-speaking folks here willing to tell us whether the demo left them excited or disappointed about the game?

The demo was nice and suspensefull. It was typically deck13 for me.
There is a test of the game at adventure-treff. They gave it 74 %. So they think it's mediocre.

I didn't like the demo much and didn't finish it. But to be fair, it's not really my type of game.

In what sense? Writing, art direction?... Could you elaborate?

I guess it's the writing and the combination of dark horror and humor that doesn't appeal to me. The graphics are fine.

I played through the demo a couple of days ago and I thought it was pretty good. I liked the atmosphere and characters and graphics. It's not the best adventure game I ever played but good enough to buy for me. Gamestar gave it an 80% with one of the main downsides seeming to be that it's just a little on the short side.

I got the full game yesterday and I'm playing through it right now... about 2 hours in now. I'm still really liking it, especially the graphics. The humor is pretty silly like in Jack Keane or Ankh so if you like those games, you should like this one too...
