Default Jungle adventures?

Hello guys,it's been a while since I last posted here so I'm back and hopefully I'll be posting a bit more often.I'm still a noob when it comes to adventure games but hey...one small step for man,one giant for the adventure gaming community. At this time period I am slowly playing Scratches and Secret Files:
Tunguska. And I'm saying slowly, because I'm also playing Empire Total War and Shogun 2 Total War so you know how it is...sometimes you just want to sit down with low-lights,a soft drink or a beer...and quietly play an adventure game to relax.

Ok,I'll cut to the chase.I love jungles. No I've never been to one,but I just love jungle settings in games, movies, park themes, documentaries etc. etc.

So can anyone tell me about any good games that take place mainly or even partially in jungles?

Apart from Monkey Island,Broken Sword and Jack Keane.

I would very much appreciate it

So...let me hear your suggestions!

Amazon...tropical rainforests....exotic places...lots of mystery and exploring...lost adventurers...all that.

Now I didn't like this game, I thought it was far too feminine, much more than reviews made it out to be, but I loved the graphics and it takes place, partly in a jungle:

So Blonde

Wow thanx for the replies guys, keep it coming keep it coming

Diego I think I have some very oooooold reviews or maybe guides for Flight of the Amazon Queen from a greek magazine from the early 90s and HEY....I'd love to get my hands on that game.It looks ancient but so cute and nice.I would simply love to get it somehow.

Stuart is Jolly Rover worth it?I mean...yeah it looks very beautiful but a dog as the main character?I generally avoid games that have animals as...umm...well animals instead of humans

But it looks very nice!

The game with the Blonde looks fantastically beautiful too.Although I don't know if it's worth it.I'll check out some reviews about it!c

P.S. Why isn't there an Indiana Jones smiley here :/

Come on guys keep it coming!

I loved it, it is very lighthearted and very entertaining and I'm not often a fan of "comedy" type games. It's on Steam and probably elsewhere.

Also got a positive review at this site: http://www.adventuregamers.com/article/id,1169

Amerzone and Runaway 2: The Dream of the Turtle both take place partially in a jungle setting. One segment of Callahan's Crosstime Saloon takes place in the Brazilian rainforest.

Flight of the Amazon Queen is freeware, you can download it from
http://www.scummvm.org/downloads/ and play the game in ScummVM.

Well, I dunno if you're into first person games , but there are a few Big Fish games like Return to mysterious island series, and others that you might like from them.

Oh, and the clasic Legend of Kyrandia games.

To tell you the truth I'm not a big fan of the first person adventure games, but I am new to this style so maybe in the feature I might like it.Although I do prefer third person games more.

Legend of Kyrandia...hmmm are you talking about that ancient game?I think I have a guide for it from an ancient magazine from back in the 90s.I haven't kept up with it though, you said they are series now?

AGON episode 3 - Pirates of Madagascar plays in a jungle. It is part of AGON-The Mysterious Codex or available on Big Fish: AGON - From Lapland to Madagascar.

well... you did mention Monkey island and Broken sword, so I thought you might like "that ancient game" !
Actually there are 3 legend of Kyrandia games. But to be honest I only played the first (and with voice, the cd version)

But if you do like jungle I do recomend Return to mysterious island and Destination-Treasure island. It gets a little use to the 360 degree system but the scenes are gorgeous!

And if you want a modern 3d third person jungle I'll go with the rest and say So blonde and Jolly Rover best, and there are some jungle scenaries in Secret files 2 Puritas cordis that I like too.

Oh Kate(can I call you Kate?)I didn't mean the "ancient game" as something bad,in fact I meant it as something legendary.Well that doesn't apply to all cases but in the case of Kyrandia heck yeah.I think it is legendary.

Return to the mysterious island is that adventure game with a female hero?Because if that's it,then I can get it in a small price. There's a DVD club here that sells used games for 10 euro per 3 games. That's how I got Scratches,Jack Keane,Broken Sword 1 and 2,Darkness Within,Silent Hill 2 and 4....and a bunch of other games.Lol!

Yeah I was thinking of getting it but the first person view was kind of bothering me.Although I did start playing Scratches(and I like it)so I might as well give that a try but is it good enough?

As for Secret Files 2....HECK yeah!As soon as I can find it,I'll get it because I'm playing Secret Files: Tunguska now and I love it.

I second that. In my book, EcoQuest 2 is the essential jungle adventure.

As for Kyrandia, there are a lot of forests in the series (and the scenery is awesome) but I can't remember any jungle.

Well the majority of the game 'Paradise'
is set in a jungle environment. I wasn't a fan of the game personally
but you might dig it. Secret files 2 definitely has some good jungle exploring.
Even 'The Whispered World' has jungle/ Woods type adventuring.

Well, several games that I like had lot to do with jungles. "Tomb Raider" games for start, though in "Hitman: Codename 47" there are also a couple of missions taking the place in the jungle, which makes them even more atmospheric than usual.

In adventures, I remember jungle settings the best in titles like "Broken Sword 2", "Runaway 2", some "Monkey Island" titles, "Secret Files 2"... Dan_Dan also reminded me on "So Blonde". That scene is really eye-candy, although a bit on the kitsch side.
