Fate of Atlantis, as someone already mentioned, and also another LucasFilm Games treat, Zak McKracken & The Alien Mindbenders - the jungle scene has always stuck in my mind as beautiful (for its time) artwork and with the right sound effects in the background from the soundcard.

Leisure Suit Larry 2, the whole last act of the game, after escaping from the KGP-infested airplane, is surviving the dangerous Nontoonyt Jungle (soon to be slashed, burned, and developed into a touris resort in LSL3 -- although there is also a large jungle maze and following creatures in LSL3 as well, nearly the whole last 1/3 of the game).

Dan_Dan also reminded me on "So Blonde". That scene is really eye-candy, although a bit on the kitsch side.
terhardp, I'm interested to know why you think it looks a bit kitsch?

Too many colors and details. IMO, the "magical" setting can also be acomplished with more subtlety.

Very amateur and old school, but I have to throw in Hugo III: Jungle of Doom. Not very good, but the whole thing takes place in a jungle.

The Infinity String is one I would suggest (it's freeware, and very well made: http://www.bigbluecup.com/games.php?action=detail&id=901.

Also, Simon the Sorcerer takes place partially in a forest.

There's also Lost Horizon (3.5 is way too low a rating for it on this site )... the jungle in it is only a small part of the game though... but the game is definitely awesome. Especially if you like the Secret Files games.

If you have a PS3, the Uncharted games have some sweet jungle too... but they're not adventures.

Oh and there's also this Treasure Island http://www.adventuregamers.com/article/id,1131 not to be confused with Destination: Treasure Island. I've never played it though so I can't vouch for it.

Try Paradise, I never got around to completing the game, but when I stopped I was in the middle of a large jungle section.

That was also some of the main reasons why I avoided Jolly Rover (along with a sugarish name...) for a while... but then decided to go for it... was it ever worth it!!! The game got 98/100 points in my review and its a new high score record. Totally recommend it warmly! Also Flight Of The Amazon Queen is one of the classics and it's completely free of charge nowadays, so there's not the slightest reason to left it be unplayed.
