What did you like about Leisure Suit Larry? (adult?)
Yeah, I think our company is pretty open minded, so I like asking the community more than just my coworkers. Not all art adventure gamers or no many AG classics.
Okay, we know how much the latest Leisure Suit Larry games suck. Now we sort of one to hit the adult market, while sort of being classier than usual. Dating Sims are sort of a good place to go, but sometimes, an interesting game could break that community and move towards even casual gamers. For the time being and for aiming toward broader sexual audiences, I feel that getting the leisure suit Larry license would be a bad idea for the time being. Who here would even thing Larry would be hot enough to go toward the homosexual audience anyways. So for the point of maybe getting this project picked up, I would like to see what you as the hardcore larry audience would think would for a spin off/spiritual succesor/inspired of leisure suit larry. What comes to mind is focusing more on the gameplay than the sex. (even though the originals weren't exactly adult in nature of pornography). For our sake, lets pretend this is more of an adult adventure. Lets start. What made you like Leisure Suit Larry? In terms of gameplay, what made LSL so special to you? Would it be feasible/work for a mobile platform? Would the option for non-straight interaction bother you in any way? Does the art direction matter the most to you when thinking of LSL? I know you may have some input in my previous design doc thread, but I feel that to sell this game to my employers and financial assistance/observers, I need to have a good connection with the community. I hope you guys understand. All help is appreciated.

That said, and skimming your questions, I would have no interest in any LSL game on a mobile device. I hate typing on my mobile device, and would not want a game that lacked heavy interaction from me. I've even loaded SCUMMvm on my phone, and played a couple of old sierra favorites, but only for the novelty value of saying, gee, my phone is more powerful than the XT I had as a kid! As to your last question - it was all about the humor. My favorites are still #1 and 3, and honestly, no one is going to nominate #1 for any art awards. |

I changed the title of your thread to make it more clear what you're looking for...

I have no idea what your intentions are here. Are you trying to make an indi game? This thread is assuming we know who you are and what you do.

LSL games, the good oens anyway, were always a comedy, the sex part was just the vehicle for it; and I really think it should stay that way, build a really funny/entertaining game first, or around, a sex theme, and you have a great LSL game. You can even go the "South park" route and make some pretty serious comentary, but just like SP it has to be funny first, otherwise you're jsut preaching...
