Default Real towns/places in adventure games?

Short story shorter: I really enjoy that the Gabriel Knight-games takes place in existing towns (like Rennes de Chateau), and thought I should ask if there is many other adventure games that does this (The ones I can think of is the Broken Sword- and Still Life-games)?

Thanks!

Police Quest 4 takes place in Los Angeles, Zak McKracken is set in San Francisco, and Sam & Max Hit the Road begins in New York and goes all over various national monuments (real and made-up).

Speaking of New York, I started the following thread on AGs based in NYC: http://www.adventuregamers.com/forum...highlight=york

Can't say how true these all are to their respective cities, but hope it helps!

Barrow Hill is a first person adventure game that is at a real place (the link to the official website is at the game page link I gave and they have a bit of info on it).

The Lost Crown takes place in Saxton ( official website)

I'm not sure where your gaming preferences lie, but those are a couple more examples.

Secret files Tunguska and Lost Horizon has a real bunch of cities and places in 3D. Like Berlin, and countries like Russia, Ireland, Cuba, China, etc.

Many places in these games! Very nice graphics and atmosphere!

The "Blackwell" games take place in New York City, or round-abouts, and some scenes are based on real places in New York.

Some more...

Gray Matter - Oxford

Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual - Malta, Paris, Istanbul, Island of Gozo

Chronicles of Mystery: Tree of Life - Cairo, Venice, Britanny, Gibraltar

Secret Files: Puritas Cordis - Cambridge, Paris, Indonesia, Gatineau

One of the best things about AGs is the jet-setting you get to do in them.

LSL5, although you see very little of it, unless you fall off the Atlantic City boardwalk
Les Manley, notable the second one, Lost in LA, where as I recall you start on the beaches in Venice
and I recall Codename: Iceman had real locations too, although I may be mistaken.

I Misteri di Maggia takes place in Maggia (Switzerland), then Tex Murphy: Mean Streets is set mainly in San Francisco and you also get around Los Angeles and other cities in California (although "getting around" is somewhat limited here).

The Lost Sword of Toledo takes place in a real town, but I can't remember what it's called.

Noir: A Shadowy Thriller - Los Angeles, '40s
Traitors Gate - Tower of London

I popped in to add a few that were already covered.

Dark Seed takes place in Woodland Hills which is a real town located not far from me in California. The back way through the woods to a path behind the houses to get to the stores looks very familiar.
