You clearly have not been in the factory sealed Lucasarts adventure game market.
Opened boxes go for low money, but sealed original big boxed games are another thing.

I have had over 100 factory sealed Lucasarts game boxes over time, but these are the only one left.

Nowadays I collect only Lucasarts promotional items.

Don't act like every factory sealed games go for those prices. Not the games you listed.

And why not? :) May I ask what game will not sell for these prices?

Hmm, I have only 7 items to sell anymore.
People seem to be very hostile here about someone selling his collection away.
I used to have over 100 boxes if you got it wrong somehow.

I'm willing to be wrong. I didn't mean to hijack the thread. I buy and sell vintage games every day and while many Lucas Arts games go for well over those prices when sealed and well conditioned you generaly do not see Indiana Jones game coming close to that. The market is flooded. The Monkey Island game would be through the roof had the box not been damaged.

The other games you mentioned don't really apply. They are probably priced right.

No my apologies if you are on the up and up. I retract my statement because I don't know you and I shouldn't be making snap judgments. Your prices are a little on the high side but I wish you well in finding them a good home.

Yep, I have had 4 sealed MI2 boxes for IBM PC (3 x 3,5" 1x 5,25") and one for MAC. So I do know how much a mint sealed MI2 goes.

About Indy FoA, I have had maybe about 10 sealed CD boxes and the price range has been from $80-150. I had one 3,5" which is a lot more rarer box without the yellow special price value band. 5,25" box on the other hand is even more rarer and I have only seen one sealed box.

But I have had nearly all the rarest Lucasarts adventure game boxes, sealed full throttle bandana, grim fandango signature edition, escape from monkey island signature edition, 7 different Maniac Mansion boxes, Labyrinth for c64 etc etc. The only box I so wanted to find, but never managed was a sealed triangular DoTT. I know that Tim Schafer still has 4 sealed boxes, but he will not sell any and I have seen one box in a private collection. And I never had a sealed Zak for IBM PC, only to Atari and c64.

I have had 4 of those sealed. Prices have ranged from $50 all the way to $200. You can find couple of them on ebay or amazon / month opened.

last one on the shelf.

Side note about the re-release CD FOA, they are currently running about the same price as the non yellow band box. Lucas Arts didn't put out huge quantities (not even 1/10 of the yellow band DOTT game) re-releases and they are considered pretty rare now. The price has been jumping.

In regards to the rare game list, I got in a bidding war for the triangle variation of DOTT. I quit when the price got to just under 500 dollars. Some guy on the old Lucas Arts museum sitescrewed me at the last day and posted the Ebay link on the forum when it had gone largely unnoticed prior. I'm pretty sure Eriq from this website beat me out on it.

Fivehundred dollars?? Wow, I didn't know prices had gone up that much. I got mine for $95 on ebay, four or five years ago when there were still lots of collectors around at auction sites. I immediately tore off the shrink-wrap, can't stand the stuff, I want to admire my beautiful boxes. A real collector would never do that. :D

He once posted pics of his collection. He has many, many, many identical copies of each game. :crazy:

Yes, I read about this couple years ago from an old thread and I almost teared my hair off that day :) I would gladly pay $500 for a factory sealed triangular DoTT box.

I can understand wanting to play the games, even have the boxes for display, but what's the attraction of having a sealed box? Jsut because no one ever opened it before? You're paying $500 because nobody thoguht of opening that box? Really?

Think of it, that's the only reason you're paying this much for it, because it has a thin plastic wrap around it, does that not bother you?

I'll never get the rabid collectors crowd... Don't get me wrong, I consider myself a collector too, but this is just crazyness
