Default Selling my Collection

I'd rather sell it to one person all at once. Can anyone here give me a rough
idea of what I could get it I put it all up as one package buy?

wow, thats quite a collection. i liked the kyrandia discs. oh the memories. anyway back on topic. im no professional and have no clue what collectors would pay for the set, but my first guess would be maybe $200-$300?

but why would you want to get rid of your collection? i would never be able to part ways!

Yeah, I'd never get rid of that. Good stuff.

But if you must, then sell it off one piece at a time. You'll get more for it that way. I mean, you've got the complete package in most cases there, with manual and box. Collectors really dig that. Problem is, most collectors are looking for specific games, not lots. Since your stuff looks in very nice condition and complete, I can imagine a collector willing to pay top dollar for whichever piece he's looking for.

I think you can get much more than 300dollars.
All your games are in near mint state!

Also, I'd reconsider selling it. It's a beautiful collection. Are you sure?

Boy don't I feel foolish...I threw most of mine out especially if they had floppy disks. Yep, right in the trash they went. Didn't figure anyone wanted old adventure games.

So will I.

Not really, but I had to say it. Damn, that's quite a collection and nearly half of that stuff made me feel a little funny in my stomach. There's stuff there I'd almost certainly kill for. How can you part with that unless you have a fatal disease (which I of course hope you don't have)?

I can sort of understand why you want to sell your games since most of them are floppy disks making it nearly impossible to play them unless somebody is hanging on to a 15 year old computer, so I guess that would drag down the prize.

Still I would never sell my games even though most of them I haven't been able to play for years despite being on cd's. Like Riddle of Master Lu, Gene Machine, Master of Dimensions, Touche, Discworld, Toonstruck and the Kyrandia series etc.

You should let your old games collect dust and take up space like the rest of us, it's the right thing to do hahaha.

It's not so hard to be able to play most old games. I had a lot of spare parts an old PC and I built myself a nice dualboot configuration (WinXP/Win98). I can play most of my old games now.

Wow, excellent collection! The value would probably be around $1000, so I would easily outbid the $400.

Unless you really need the money, keep that collection! It's beautiful and will make you feel happy down the road when you think about old games you played.

Wreck

I commend you on wanting to sell off your collection and keep them alive in the world of game collecting. I am sure you have thought long and hard about this decision of parting with these that you have coveted for so long.

These games are no longer made and every year that passes they become harder and harder to find. What would happen if all collectors hung onto their game forever and after their death the heirs just throw them away so they are gone forever. By selling your games you are actually helping the genre we love so much live on with newer, younger collectors adding them to a collection they are starting. Lets face it the Adventure Game Collectors are dying off literally and with them many rare games die too.

From one collector to another I applaud you with your post here and thank you for wanting to keep these games in the hands of gamers that will cherish them and move them on to when they get older and have had a great time enjoying them.

To all Collectors:
You know when it is time to move your vintage games on. We all hear the signs. Do the genre a favor. when you hear the signs don't ignore them. Think long and hard and help save the genre for another generation.them.

Very nice collection.

I'm not going to hazard a guess at how much you'd get from selling the lot off, but I do think $300-$400 is a bit on the conservative side. I would expect Loom and Zak McKracken to almost get that much given their condition.

You'll get a higher price by selling them off individually, but it'll probably take you a while to move them all. If you do decide to sell them separately, I'd be interested in bidding for a few.

As an exercise in valuing your fine collection, I will offer $500. So it is worth at least that much. I don't recommend you take me up on my offer (or Blondebeard's automatic counter-offer of $501), as it is probably worth more. But if nobody tops $500, than I am your customer.
