Hi Everyone!

I created the game The Journey to Kelabra.
It's a game for gays, gays are main characters (all the character are gay actually :p), it's kinda casual with some puzzle adventure features, you can undress the characters and more :p

I have to wonder...is this a game aimed at gay people? Or a porn game aimed at people that happens to have gay sex in it?

I'm actually all for an adventure game that had a gay protagonist. Honestly, it could add quite a nice element of character depth. But really, this just comes off as virtual porn, that is vaguely insulting to gay people in assuming that because they are gay, they would like men dressed like S&M slaves, and have dialog like "I cant help but touching his penis."
My best friend is gay, and honestly I don't think that this is "a game for gays,".

Who knows tho-maybe there is a niche in the market for something like this? As a developer myself, its always interesting to see what other indie devs are doing to make their games unique.

Pyke more or less summarized how I feel about this, only in a far more articulate way than I could have (and would have) done. I wouldn't call this "vaguely insulting" to gay people, but rather "insulting and shockingly generalizing". Maybe there is good intention in there somewhere, but you should really just call it what it is: a (gay) porn game.

Haha, I'm amused to see that this made its way here also.

I think he's been making his way around the Internet with it, as an identical thread popped up yesterday over at a forum I post on for gay nerds.

We all concluded that it was stereotypical to the point that it was bordering on being mildly offensive. We may be gay, but we still like good games, ones sense of taste doesn't suddenly fly out the window in the face of a giant 3D rendering of a penis.

We're going to try to get hold of a copy just to write a scathing review, the potential seems too good to be missed. xD

Hate to criticize anyone who makes their own game but this looks pretty terrible from storyline to dialogue (from the screenshots) to what it actually seems to be (a glorified porn game).

Like the above poster, I'm also a gay male and would rather play a lesbian game with some substance than a gay (male) game with none! Haha.

Also when I first saw this thread I thought it was a misspelling of a "guy". Boy, was I wrong

And I guess it is somehow offensive. I mean anatomy of some of those men is completely wrong, their leg muscles are huge, not to speak of their sexual organs
But the game graphics are really nice, and I would surely play this game if it wasn't for the hole gay porn part.

Also why aren't there any porn games for woman? Some of the woman also like porn, you know (not saying that I do). There are dozens of porn games for men, a lot of them for homosexuals, some for lesbians (and men again, though I don't know what they see in two women kissing each other) but none for women. How is that even possible?

Like with movies this is an exploitation video game, there's a strong nich market. It's not really directed to the gay community but to the porn exploitation community. It's like that Sexy Beach franchise and that controversial japanese game Rapelay, exploitation video games focused on sex.
