Anything I might have missed?
I'm really desperate for a really awesome new adventure game and I can't find anything good.
I've played (and finished) and liked/loved: Monkey Island series, Broken Sword series, Discworld series, Syberia series, Sam & Max series, The X-Files: The Game, Machinarium, Still Life, Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle, Indigo Prophecy, The Da Vinci Code, Back to the Future. I've played (and finished) and thought was just ok: CSI series, And then there were None, Murder on the Orient Express, Gray Matter, Gabriel Knight 1, Return to Mysterious Island, Beneath a Steel Sky. I've played (but not finished) and thought it was boring: Grim Fandango, The Longest Journey, Myst series, Strong Bad's Cool game, Voyage, The Dig, Gabriel Knight 3. So, anything awesome I might have missed? |

The Lost Horizon has had a lot of good chatter... I'm about to start it after I finish Buried in Time...

I'm playing Lost Horizon currently. The game has an awesome presentation, definitely the most enjoyable adventure compared to other latest titles. It's excellent homage to Indiana Jones. But, the game is really easy and voice acting + dialogues are a bit below the quality of other things.

I finished the game just at this moment. It has a lot of references to many things and many jokes with adventure genre (I've put a goat in my pocket. Don't ask me how).
Finale was pretty good Spoiler: Man, if this game had Indiana Jones music, better VA, dialogue and dialogue animations (characters look like talking robots, almost no hand movement etc.) I'd definitely give it 5/5. Harder and more non-inventory puzzles would also be great. Still, it's 4/5. |

May I recommend a very underrated comedy called Gilbert Goodmate and the Mushroom of Phungoria. I think it's the funniest cartoonish adventure since Curse of Monkey Island.

Gabriel Knight 2 trailer You can try the tex murphy games , cheesy and the graphics perhaps not up to the standard of nowadays but it's pretty funny and really good games to play. Tex Murphy 3 : Under a killing Moon Tex Murphy 4 : The Pandora Directive Tex Murphy 5 : Overseer If you liked Lucasarts games , you might want to try the earlier lucasarts indiana jones games , they are quite decent especially the fate of atlantis which is pretty good. (already mentioned , i see) Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis Some others Blade Runner Noctropolis Toonstruck - with Christopher Lloyd The neverhood - this one is a puzzle based game. Pretty cute game. Last edited by marshal99; 01-14-2011 at 04:29 AM. |

I've been playing The Whispered World and liking it quite a bit. It's slow, so if that bothers you then maybe not, but it's got gorgeous, evocative graphics and fun puzzles.
If you enjoy horror or mysteries you might like Sanitarium. And, if you have a play station, you should definitely look into Heavy Rain--it's by the same folks who did Indigo Prophecy and has, in my opinion, a much better story.
