Skeeter_93

I have a Windows 98SE disk that I have had laying around here for a long time if you would like to have it. I don't know if it will work in Virtual PC or at all for that matter but you can't lose for free. It says this on the disk " For Distribution With A New PC Only" You are welcome to it, just email me your address and I will send it to ya. Maybe then you can enjoy all the Journeyman Project games and other games as well.

@Skeeter_93

But BIT (a brilliant game) should run without problems on Windows XP? I played it without any problems or help.
I guess you have already tried http://home.earthlink.net/~infernofi...yPII_Setup.htm.
There's also a patch
http://presto.tommyyune.com/presto/journeyman2/bithints.html

But as said it should run without problems on XP.

So guys, I have to be looking out for the Journeyman Project Turbo right?
That's the definitive version of the first game?

Turbo is the Windows remake of The Journeyman Project, the first game. Pegasus Prime is the remake of Turbo but was only released for Mac. Prime is considered the by many as the best version including me but Turbo is good too and can be bought pretty cheaply in a JC on Ebay.

So Pegasus Prime is unplayable on Windows? There is no patch released for this?

Thats correct. I had looked into a Mac emulator for Windows but sounded too complicated with no guarantee that Prime would play on it. So I went out and bought a little IMac off of Ebay for $60 and played the game. After playing Prime on it and a few other, Mac only games, I then sold the IMac for the same price.

No. It's owned by army of cruel Mac lovers and they won't let us good PC boys play it.

Now that's dedication! =)

Okay. I'll be playing Turbo then =D

Plotwise, did Pegasus Prime have anything added?

From the Official Web Site for Pegasus Prime...

Quote:
Presto Studios is proud to present a classic retelling of the best-selling CD-ROM adventure that started it all. Based on the compelling story of the original Journeyman Project, the graphics and gameplay have been completely recrafted to show off the awesome power of the hottest new game technology. Fully-animated motion through eye-popping environments, intensely realistic robot adversaries, and incredible new gameplay sequences are just a few of the substantial improvements.

Plotwise, the game adds a bit more connections to the future games, like agent 3's appearance when you first enter the annex. It also is made to be less of a slideshow and more like the future journeyman games.

Once you've played Turbo, you can watch the speedrun on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMHQoida2_w

I've tried the set up several times, I really don't know what is wrong. Basically when I double click the set up icon nothing happens. I have tried a manual install I saw instructions for, but once I've done that the launch icon does nothing when I double click it. I can't find any mention of an error like it on the net.

Wow...Pegasus Prime looks awesome. Wish I still had my G4 so I could play it now. So given that Journeyman 2 is on GOG how likely would it be for Pegasus Prime to get a PC conversion/emulation/update on GOG or similar services? Or is that a crazy pipedream (I've no idea how easily a power mac exclusive could be converted to PC which I why I ask)? I'm debating between picking up a power mac again to play this or simply waiting for a ported version down the road.

Pegasus Prime runs on a Power PC Mac emulator called SheepShaver - I've tried it a few years ago.

Keep in mind, its a real PAIN to get it working at all.

In terms of a PC conversion. Writing an engine from scratch and converting all the old resources is the best way of pulling it off. I've ripped and converted the PP resources. I just wish I knew how to program back when I did it. Now i'm way to busy to make a prototype.

Indeed there is. The biggest issue is using getting the right version of OSX/OS8, while installing the right drivers. It was a HUGE pain in the but when I did it......yet someone was nice enough to send me a copy of sheepsaver running OS8 that ran Pegasus Prime. Don't have it anymore though.
