Default City Interactive Next Adventures - Any Info?

Hello, i know i must alone lol but, is there any info on the new Chronicles of Mistery or Art of Murder 4? I wanna know if they are being produced or not. I know they are sub-par but for some reason i enjoy then.

During gamescom City Interactive announced only casual Chronicles of Mystery and Art of Murder games. And they are for Nintendo DS.

Oh..to bad. Maybe they gave up on traditional Adventure games for the PC. Thanks anyway.

I've just learned from the Polish adventure gaming site Adventure Zone that City-Interactive indeed decided to stop developing new adventure games. At least for now.

That's stretching it too far. The only CI game I would describe as good would be CoM: The Tree of Life. That one was actually surprisingly good. The others I found enjoyable but not too good

We have different tastes. I found The Tree of Life horrible, whereas Art of Murder 1&2 quite good

Well you're not the only one seeing as it got a very bad rating here. The again AoM 2 also got a very bad rating so I guess they're both not too good.

Anyways why'd you hate CoM: Tree of Life so much? As for me in AoM 1 I found the whole
Spoiler:
ancient treasure of the mayas plot
totally inapropriate for a crime thriller also I thought the choice for the killer was very poor. As for AoM 2 I simply couldn't get over the fact that a FBI agent could travel the world without ever even having to file a request and await aproval. Besides the fact that I think a game centered around an FBI agent should at least partially be set in the US.

As to my point concerning AoM 2, I have discussed this before so my apologies is I've been repetitive I just thaught it'd be fair to say what my problems were with the ones you find good before I ask you what your problem was with the one I found good. Also I thought CoM: The Scorpio Ritual was good or at least okay till it reached its conclusion wich didn't make any sense whatsoever.

What a shame. What will I play now while waiting for the games on my "must play" list to be released...

Joke aside. The adventures from CI are bad in comparison with some adventure blockbusters, that's for sure. They just have too many cliches and flaws, though one can't deny their technical value: all of the CI games have more than decent graphic and design as well as solid music and sound. Everything else about them can be neatly described by a single word: mediocrity. Still, I feel kinda "sad" about them going bust, because it's a fact I've played all of AOM and COM games, so some "nostalgia" is present at the bottom of my cup.

Take a close look at the boxes and the games look suspiciously like Hidden Object Games (HOG) Could it be that another developer has abandoned the AG community for mind numbing money?

What a waste of a DVD then. lol Wouldn't the size of these games be just under 400mb? lol

Well, I don't begrudge anyone for wanting to make a living, especially if they made so artistically void adventures like City Interactive did before.

@ GreyFuss: You are right, these are HO-games, sadly. See:
http://www.city-interactive.com/inde...m=games&m2=upc
Pity, like some others I think these (Chronicles of Mystery/Art of Murder) are simply well-made, enjoyable games (i.e. without the pretention to be "artistic" ;-))

What I don't understand is why they named these Hog's after Adventure Game Series. Why not give them names of their own. The only reason that I can come up with in my little head is they would want to maybe fool some people that liked the adventure series into buying these thinking that they were buying true adventure games again thus ensuring sales that they might not get if the AG'er knew it was a Casual Game. Maybe they would further this with bundled games and sneaking in these with the AG's. Anyone else have an idea as to why they used the the titles of the AG series for Hog's?

They already adopted their old Art of Murder and Chronicles of Mysteries games as HOGs (for various platforms too), so that's the reason.

Since CI isn't making any more new adventures, it was inevitable that they would release their past games in two collections (each for the same price as a single game, ~$20):

I was still looking to buy AoM 3 and CoM 2, but I don't think it would be worth it to double-dip and get the collections... curse my own impatience!

hmm, I don't mind that they are hidden object games, I'm still quite interested in them! Especially if they are so called "third person hog's" that is: if the palyer is movable in the screen, looking forward to them!
