request-similar to Safecracker
Hello. I recently played Safecracker: The Ultimate Puzzle Adventure(2006) and while it had plenty of flaws, I really like the basic style of the gameplay. I liked being in a small location solving puzzles to advance to the greater puzzle. I don't like slider puzzles and a couple others but I enjoy most of the other logic type puzzles.
Can you think of some similar games I might like? The closest I have are some Myst games which are comparable, but not quite the same. Thanks for any input! |

You might like the original Safecracker by Dreamcatcher from 2000.

Fantastic puzzle games with more exploration and tons of atmosphere are the Neverhood (1996) and the recent Machinarium, which also has inventory-based puzzles. In the Myst-like department I recommend my beloved Obsidian (1997). |
Besides the games Fien has recommended...
There's also Shivers, where you're in an unusual museum. Schizm 2 (aka Mysterious Journey 2) and Sentinel have larger areas to explore, but most puzzles are either self-contained or have their solutions not far from where the puzzle is found. Then there's The Fool's Errand, which you can get for free. http://www.thefoolandhismoney.com/01...rand/index.htm Unless you have an older computer, some of these games will work better in emulation. |
