The Real Lost Crown - Locations Video Documentary

Hi all,
As promised, here is the video documentary of all the real places used as the backdrop for The Lost Crown. You can view the videos through this YouTube playlist: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...7A52E7AF54B3B7
Hope you enjoy this labour of love!

Wow, I really don't know what to say apart from big thanks for the huge effort you've put into this project. I enjoyed watching your documentary allmost as I've enjoyed playing the actual game. Although I've never been to Saxton (or England) before, I had the feeling that I know the place intimately, while watching your videos. Now I understand why Boakes had choose it as a backdrop for his game. The place is really inspiring, to say the least. When I visit England in the future, I'll certainly try to visit Saxton as well.

BTW, I liked several small details in your movies. You certainly have the feeling for drama and atmosphere. First that comes to mind is the "look through the hole" of the workshop door. You've beautifuly captured the church site and the shore near Ulcombe aswell. I also liked the fact that you've made several funny touches and remarks, like "helooooo" and "it's poisonous". I've found the latter hilarious, because it's the spitting image of that particular scene in the game.

All in all, I congratulate you on your fine work on this project. :)

im watching it now as im typing this. these vids REALLY make me wanna visit this place myself. would be a bit of an effort for me since i would have to come over from germany, but why not?! you should release a tour guide on how to get there! lol

terhardup: Yes, Jonathan has done fantastic work. His games are such high quality, its difficult to believe its primarily the work of just one man.

BTW, although the game is set on the east coast of England, the locations are all found in the western point of England, Cornwall mostly and a bit of Devon. The main part of Saxton is actually the village of Polperro, with a few other scenes from Looe, Talland and Duloe.

I was hoping the phrases would be funny. I was concerned that they would be cheesy or fall flat!

Thank-you for your positive comments!

tastebud: Do it! You will see the physical locations of the places painstakingly marked out on my Flickr map: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomrbaynham/map/
You'll have to zoom out to see the other locations.

I'm planning a trip to Munchen for Gabe 2 locations!

@terhardup nice that map works. very clear.

i'm actually living just outside munich. im not sure how familiar you are with the area or how many contacts u have, but if you have a question about something that i may be able to answer, feel free to pm me.

actually, i'm living right at the s-bahn station "buchenau" which is also in the game as the animal trafficing location. i would have no idea where to look for that building though. im sure its not around here lol

Thanks tastebud, I may take you up on that. I'm fine with hotels, flights car hire etc., but it can be difficult to know exactly where some locations are/parking spots etc. without local knowledge.
