Default Scott Adams resuming work on new Adventure

For those who have been adventuring for a while, I thought I'd share this announcement Scott Adams recently posted as a comment at my Gaming After 40 blog:

I think I am going to take this post as my world-wide announcement that I have started work once again on my next adventure "The inheritance". I stopped work on it about 3 years ago and I hope this time to complete it! Happy Adventuring all!

Cool! I hope it's not as hard as his early work.

I interviewed Scott for a story in GamesTM about a year ago. The piece was recently posted online here -- might be a helpful reference for adventure gamers too young to know who he is.

I used to play his Pirate Adventure when i was a wee lad, back in the eighties.
That game was hard as nails, never managed to beat it.

I have very fond memories of playing through classic Scott Adams adventures, like The Count and Voodoo Castle, That two-word text parser made for a serious challenge. I'm definitely intrigued by anything he would create now.

He came out with a Pirate Adventure sequel in 2000, called Return to Pirate's Island 2. The two Savage Island games are the hardest of his original series, in my opinion; fortunately there are walkthroughs available these days for those moments where we just need a hint.

I played through the first 12 of the original Scott Adams games in a series on my blog about a year ago, called The Great Scott Project. Planning to pick it up again and catch the ones I've missed starting in August. There are spoilers aplenty, but I wanted to document the games in detail.

Nope, different Scott Adams. This Scott Adams pioneered adventure gaming for microcomputers, figuring out how to cram a game into 16K of memory with his first releases, Adventureland and Pirate Adventure. His influence is visible on almost all the text adventures of the early 1980's.
