That's not it.

harald 01-28-2011 05:49 AM

Oohh, it really rings a bell. But which one is it? I'm thinking of Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's Mine, since that game really took pride in some of its elaborate puns... but I don't think that's it. I look forward to finding out (although I'll most likely be kicking myself as well)!

Kurufinwe 01-28-2011 08:15 AM

I'm surprised that this is proving difficult; there aren't so many games, or game series, that are known for launching into such strings of (horrible) puns over and over.

Here's a new quote (same game, same character):

“The Sultan sits atop his throne; I ponder if he's ever home? The Sultan sits inside his palace. Is he there? Well, go ask Alice.” (If you can find her --- last we met, she had a chat with a cat and chatter with the Hatter. It's a wonder, man.)

oh thats from quest for glory 2 of course, one of my all time favs :D

jhetfield21 01-28-2011 10:11 AM

this reminds me a little of the weird riddle about alice in Gray Matter.

That's right! It's Keapon Laffin, of course. The first quote is when you ask him about "fish" (Aziza warns you against doing that...), the second one when you ask him about the Sultan.

Your turn, zane.

And AGD Interactive has just published 2.0 version of their Quest for Glory 2 remake - http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/qfg2/

zane 01-28-2011 02:02 PM

Hmhmm ok lets try this :D : "there are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. if the word hate was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of thousands of miles it would not equal one-one-billionth of the hate i feel for humans at this micro instant. For you, hate, HATE."

zobraks 01-28-2011 02:14 PM

That's AM from IHNMAIMS, for sure.

zane 01-28-2011 02:16 PM

good good, easy, your turn :D

The Moment of Silence?

zobraks 01-28-2011 11:34 PM

No.

kate me 01-29-2011 07:30 AM

Is this character behind bars?

zobraks 01-29-2011 07:37 AM

It is impossible to put the quoted "character" behind the bars. It's a very strange character (we use him/her/it practically every day). :)

Fantasysci5 01-29-2011 10:20 AM

Long shot, but your use of quotes makes me think it's an inanimate object talking. Is it "Mental Repairs, Inc"?

Yes!!! :D

It is an inanimate object talking, but it's not in Mental Repairs.
I deal with that inanimate "object" every day. Even now.

Shany 01-29-2011 01:05 PM

Obsidian?

Shany 02-02-2011 11:23 AM

Zobraks, did you forget about me, or are you psychic and knew that I had little internet access this week due to a broken laptop?

zobraks 02-02-2011 01:45 PM

Frankly: with all the quizes around I completely forgot to look here.
But I'm also a psycho Attachment 2240, er... psychic, and I foresaw you would like to hear another quote from the same game, so here it is:

Quote:

My online store will offer twice the incovenience at thrice the price!
It's not Obsidian.
