To avoid the confusion of having two quotes in play ;), this is from King's Quest VI (the Oracle to Alexander).

New quote:
"Using everything with everything will not get you far in a video adventure game.”

Lol, I remember that quite well, I can still hear eric idle's voice saying that. Brilliant game :D

Don't know the quote but I disagree with the sentiment. It's amazing how far that approach will get you most of the time. :D

Google brings me to Tony Tough and the Nigth of the Roasted Moths.

Antaios 07-11-2010 10:06 PM

Aah, that's cheating, that is. :P

Trunkyo 07-12-2010 04:57 AM

Tony Tough and the Roasted Moths is indeed correct. (Before posting the quote I did a Google search myself, to see if anything other than reviews of the game would turn up. ;))

The "using everything with everything" strategy is probably the one everyone uses when they're stuck while playing Discworld... :frusty: But how many hundreds of times can one stand the previously quoted "That doesn't work" by Rincewind???

Your turn, tsa! :D

I said it worked. I never said it wasn't an irritating grind when you have no choice but to use it. :)

Cool, I won!

OK, here comes:

Antaios 07-12-2010 11:10 AM

This reminds me very much of Shivers, but that probably isn't it.

tsa 07-12-2010 11:31 AM

Nope, sorry.

chal 07-12-2010 04:13 PM

Hey, that's from Riven!

tsa 07-12-2010 07:01 PM

Yes!

That was quick. I thought I'd take something from Myst because no one here likes it :P. Now it's your turn chal!

BTW, there's already a thread for guessing adventure game sound and music clips, found here. (It was recently revived for a short time a few months ago.) :)

okay, here's mine:

"Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear..."

Kurufinwe 07-13-2010 02:52 AM

I'm currently playing The Whispered World, and that sounds like something His Whininess Sadwick would say.

The Longest Journey? Probably not, but it sounds a little like one of those adorable banda. :)
