Default Time Hollow (very spoilery questions)

ok so I just finished the game and thoroughly enjoyed it, but some things just didn't quite add up

1: assuming it was Irving/Jack who sabotaged Olivia's bike, why? and if not him then who and why?
2: how was young Kori still in Ethan's time in the post-credits scene?
3: if old Derek died saving Kori how did he manage to mail a letter to Ethan? and if that was sent before, then how did it contain details of events that happened after?
4: just how much wood would a woodchuck chuck... wait, nevermind
5: is there a way to stop Vin from breaking his ankle at the hideout? there seemed to be some hints to it, but no way to do anything about it

Presumably to mess with Ethan.

I've been told that's actually her and Derek's daughter.

I'm not sure what letter you're talking about. Could you refresh my mind a bit?

Sorry, can't remember this anymore.

1. I guess, although it seems rather a far fetched plan. let's mess with him by killing his friends crush... also it seems rather out of place timewise if that's the case, that early in the game Irving hadn't really started his revenge killing spree

3. at the end of the game Ethan receives a letter from Derek telling him that Mary and Irving left town

Not started yet? He had already changed the past to get both of Ethan's parents killed in the fire!

My memory's still a bit hazy, but I think I now recall old Derek actually surviving the fall and keeping a low profile while keeping an eye on things. Could that be it? Otherwise I have no idea.

killing his parents (well, trying to) was a separate plan though, it wasn't until after Ethan tries to save Mary and Irving assumes Ethan killed her that he began his vengeance specifically against Ethan and started killing his friends. before that he'd just tried to get rid of Ethan's father as he blamed him for his mothers death. at least that's how I understood it
