(Spoiler warning) Just finished GK1, some questions
Hi
1. What's with Dr. John - who is he really? What's with all the blood and stuff in his room? 2. What's with the Morgue? What the heck is going on in there... 3. Who is that guy who just stands outside the bookshop staring? (creepy) 4. How was Wolfgang able to rip out his own heart and place it there? 5. What was the fate of Gabriel's father and grandfather? 6. Why is Grace so cool? If you have any other interesting questions or insights, please add them. |

Haha, I have to laugh at the Wolfgang question - this was a hot topic in the GK1 playthrough recently. I'm not sure I'm in the best position to answer exactly who Dr John was as my memory is already rusty and someone like Andrea could probably explain him and the houndfour (houndour?) place more succinctly than I.
As for the guy out fornt of the shop, he was just part of the voodoo crew, a 'messenger' I suppose. Bah, I don't know why I bother, I'm no good at explaining or remembering for that matter EDIT: and people may strongly disagree with me, but many would also just as easily agree that Grace loses her extreme GK1 coolness very quickly in GK2...

Thanks Sughly, yes I'm also wondering about what the nature of a 'hounfour' is exactly.
I think the characterization of Grace is brilliant, she really seems like a real person with her manner. EDIT: Another question, how was I meant to work out some of the puzzles without a guide? E.g. How could I have known 'dj bring sekey madoule', or the drums rhythm thing etc. |

As for that sekey madoule thing - I'm not sure there's many people who DIDN'T use a guide for that one. The drum pattern is found from the guy in the square near the church, you can use the drum book on him to decipher what he's playing, then use it against them on the crypt wall. As for knowing what to write, I think it's kind of figured out after you go to Dr John's and Gabriel makes some comment about the sekey madoule thing and I suppose you're meant to put two and two together after that. Could be wrong... EDIT: plus with the info given at the lecture about them and how they are taken to these rituals

1. What's with Dr. John - who is he really? What's with all the blood and stuff in his room?
Just a guy who happens to be the right-hand man of the main villain, but with a more physical presence. Blood and stuff, you mean at his altar in the hounfour? That's just ritualistic offerings. 2. What's with the Morgue? What the heck is going on in there... Morgue? Oh, you mean that room in the hounfour? It's where they harvest human hearts, needed to open the shrine in the main room. 3. Who is that guy who just stands outside the bookshop staring? (creepy) Sughly explained already. Just an observer of the voodoo cult. 4. How was Wolfgang able to rip out his own heart and place it there? No idea, sheer force of will I guess. 5. What was the fate of Gabriel's father and grandfather? Since they turned their backs to the Shattenjäger life, they both died young, I believe in accidents (bad karma, probably). 6. Why is Grace so cool? She's voiced by Leah Remini, for one thing, but as a character she just knows the right buttons to push.

Wow, I never realized Leah Remini did her voice in the first game. That's a bizarre bit of trivia.

Well, she's in the credits, and in the "making of" video. I remember watching that video dozens of times (even with the terrible quality) because it was the first piece of actual real life video I saw on a computer.

At least he did a far better performance here than in that Jay & Silent Bob movie.
