Default Looking for new recommendations

I've read the stickied thread with all the game reccomendations but I couldn't really find anything that fitted the category of what I'm looking for, so it seemed pertinent to open a new topic.

Basically I'm looking for a title with an ambience similar to Grim Fandango. It doesn't need to have any surrealistic elements to it, but I just love the game's jazzy and classy atmosphere on some parts. The filthy, rich, greedy and corrupt characters, with some gambling degenerates lurking around. I have no preference when it comes to the game's plot, but it'd be good if the action took place in a somewhat contemporary setting.

A nice jazzy soundtrack, a vivid city, casinos, expensive suits, corrupt and interesting characters, an immersive contemporary setting (with or without surrealistic elements) and a fairly decent plot is basically what I'm looking for; doesn't matter if we have to investigate a murder, track someone down or search for an artifact.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you're up for The Blackwell Games. (The Blackwell Legacy, Unbound and Convergence) they're exactly what you describedark, moody, even surrealistic with lots of bdubious characters in them and a great jazzy soundtrack. They also feature also feature really beautiful dialogues. Only downside is they're rather short

While it may not be exactly what you are looking for, Dirty Split has a nice atmosphere and casinos.
Also, it's free.

Yeah, I've played Dirty Split and enjoyed it. I'll give these Blackwell games a shot. Many thanks for the replies. I'm always open to suggestions though, so if there's a game that fits in this category that's worth mentioning; please don't hesitate to do so.

Peace.
