do you think there is any chance another publisher would buy whatever lucasarts has done on the game so far and take over? has that been done before?

I'm not sure if this was mentioned in any thread, so: pc.ign.com published a new feature a couple of days ago, titled Missing In Action: The Lost Games of the PC. The first part has a couple of paragraphs about Sam & Max.
