Default Callahan's Crosstime Saloon

Just heard from Josh, and I want to help celebrate the mitzva.

Today is the 13th anniversary of the publishing of one of my alltime favorite games. Let's give it all up for Josh Mandel and his Callahan's Crosstime Saloon.

Even though I generally write my installers for the Sierra games, I'll join in with this DOSBox installer for Callahan's Crosstime Saloon. You must own a copy of the CD to use this installer. It will automatically setup Callahan's Crosstime Saloon in DOSBox so that it can be started from a Windows shortcut.

Hey, you guys, I'm touched!

And yes, in more ways than one. :-)

Josh

P.S. I'm going to try to arrange to make CCS available as shareware. Spider's wife, Jeanne, also a sci-fi author in her own right, has cancer, and I can't think of a better use of this old game than to try to earn a little money to help pay for her care.

Right now, my installer works with the original CD. It can easily be modified to work with some kind of new distribution, such as by download.

Thanks for the link, Collector. I bought a used copy of the game and was wondering how will I get it to run.

Anything I can do to help, let me know.

Woo! And in celebration of this anniversary, I'm going to dig it out and play more than 5 mins (silly computers dying, moving house/countries distracting me). But where would it be packed, hmm? Anyone with psychic visions, premonitions etc let me know...

I dunno...would it be possible to get the game up on GOG.com?
Would be easy to play then and it would get some well needed attention.
But I guess the rights of this title are a complicated mess... :-/
