Default 'LOD' in GK3

Level of detail I guess? Doesn't seem to change quality from lowest to highest when moving slider. Anyone else notice a change with LOD slider?

It sets the distance at which fully detailed models become low detailed models. If the LOD is set low, low polygon models will be used at a closer distance, than if they were high.

So better to have LOD at highest then if I understand you correctly?

Yep! Unless your computer finds GK3 too graphically intensive. Which (while I don't want to jump to conclusions about anyone's computer set-ups) I would find unlikely in this age.

And yes, "Level of Detail" is correct.

Heh, nah, I built my new pc recently, it has a phenom II x2 550 3.1GHz, 2x2GB ram and an ati HD 4870 1GB vram. It eats games up like GK3 and spits them out.
