I wouldn't "die" to play anything, to be honest.

And in general, I'd rather a new story, new world and new characters to discover any day, than just make a list of all my favourite games and then tack an incremented number on the end.

I particularly don't ever want to see sequels to games that clearly don't need them, such as Grim Fandango. The ending was perfect, so let it go and move on, I say.

But that's just me, today. Tomorrow I may feel different...

Okay, Mr. (Ms.?) Literal.

Then don't do that. Pick out the ones that could actually be made into decent sequels. I think that was sorta the point of the thread.

I totally agree, with only one exception. I really, really want to play Gabriel Knight: The Fathers Blood of the Beast (at least that was a little more creative then just putting a "4" at the end ).

Monkey Island 5... not in the pipeline? Is that your way of calling Tales not a true sequel? Haven't gotten into it yet, but... well, it kinda really seems like MI5.

As to your inquiry, I am so enthralled by the characters and mythos of the Gabriel Knight trilogy (and so disappointed by its lack of a true and proper closing) that if I end up making enough money in my life to fund something as crazy as this plan, I would buy the rights to the franchise from Vivendi/Activision-Blizzard (whoever it is that owns them) and hand them over to Jane Jensen straight away. Honestly, I would. It's one of my lesser goals in life.

To a lesser extent, I am also eagerly awaiting the continuation of Dreamfall & The Longest Journey (apparently Tornquist wants to make Dreamfall Chapters AND The Longest Journey 2 — huzzah!) and perhaps a new Broken Sword, even though I never played 3 or 4 and thought 2 was mediocre.

Oh, and the canceled prequel to The Last Express. Can Jordan Mechner postpone his other videogame obligations and make this, please?

I'm really looking forward to continuation to Dreamfall and TLJ myself, I wish they would get on with it already! (Culpa Innata is on its way luckily.)

Otherwise atm I think I would only really be interested in new GK and Discworld Noir. I am not finished with Grim Fandango yet, the possibilities for a sequel or prequel might be in order there too once I get to the end.

Is the Nocturne from first post the Shin Megami Tensei one or what (here it's called "Lucifer's Call" for some reason)? That's a great game though I haven't finished that one either . I managed to destroy my save files and started from beginning again. I don't seem to have the time to finish those RPGs anymore, Lost Odyssey is midway also and those games are really good and interesting, it's not about losing interest.

I sure would like to enjoy another adventure with George Stobbard and Nico Collard, so another installment of the Brioken Sword series would be welcome. (Are you reading this, Steve Ince?)

Discworld Noir is one of my favourite games. A sequel would be much apreciated.

And finally, another game in the Quest for Glory universe!

I want more Touch Detective for my DS

also new version of Dreamfall / The Longest Journey would be nice (because i hate an open ended story with vague conclusion )

1. Shenmue III
2. Dreamfall Chapters
3. Fahrenheit 2
4. A real sequel to Still Life
5. Syberia 3

The last three don't really need a sequel, but I'd just like to see the characters again in another game. The top two most certainly do need sequels. Badly.

I agree about preferring original games rather than sequels with the exception of dreamfall since the story was left unfinished.
I also would really like to play the third and final sequel to monkey island by ron gilbert.

Gabriel Knight 4... and 5... and 6... and 7... and so on.

And this is really what I'd die for, figuratively speaking of course

But I'd also be glad to play King's Quest IX (or X if we consider The Silver Lining)

Oh oh, this!

I tried the first Shenmue on my friend's Dreamcast once and it seemed pretty interesting. Are they available on PC or other consoles?

Once I would kill for a Gabriel Knight sequel, but now I rather wait for Gray Matter and see if it leads to a new series.

I didn't see any need for Monkey Island 5, but Tales got me excited nevertheless. I hope the storyline will be as good all throughout.

I'd like to see more Nick Bounty games. Also, Nelly Cootalot 2.

Oh, and Darkseed 3 would be neat. Same goes for a new Tex Murphy - if only the gameplay doesn't end up being causal.

- Just like Andrea, not only Gabriel Knight 4, but as many sequels as possible.

- I'd also like a Broken Sword 5. To be honest though, I do think the series needs a break. Broken Sword 4 just needs some proper closure and if a fifth one gets done, it needs to be in 2D.

- Beneath a Steel Sky 2 would be welcome.

- The real Monkey Island 3 done by Ron Gilbert, or a proper Monkey Island 5, again, done by Ron Gilbert.

- A remake of Simon the Sorcerer 3D in 2D. Or, actually, a forth one again, but done by Mike and Simon Woodroffe and the rest of the original team from Adventure Soft.

- Another Discworld game. But not necessarily Discworld Noir 2.

- The Longest Journey 2 and Dreamfall: Chapters.

I nearly forgot about this one. I used to follow progress of this game, but it fell off my radar some time back. It looks like it's still happening. There's a new journal entry here: http://www.tsl-game.com/journal/

I would definitely put new King's Quest games on my list of sequels I'd die to play, but playing them would already likely get me killed in a myriad of ways.

The Forgotten 2
Any continuation of Gabriel Knight. I'll even take a book sequel.
