Your All-Time Adventure Awards/Raspberries
Just for fun.
You can only choose one per category. These should all be adventure games or ...hybrid games. Be Very Subjective - these are the one you loved! Or hated! Despite what others have said... Best Game Ever: Worst Game Ever: Best Story Ever: Worst Story Ever: Best Puzzles/Gameplay: Worst Puzzles/Gameplay: Best Character Ever: Worst Character Ever: That's enough for now - i could do tons of categories, but from time to time, they like me to work here. Here's my answers: Best Game Ever: Riven Worst Game Ever: Oblivion* Best Story Ever: Riven Worst Story Ever: Plundered Hearts? Best Puzzles/Gameplay: Riven (notice a patten? can't help it.) Worst Puzzles/Gameplay: 7th Guest Best Character Ever: Gehn Worst Character Ever: The Misogynistic Roommate in TLJ, though I did like how he was a film student, April Ryan herself could make this list "what's his malfunction?"** * It's the best I could come up with - I liked Oblivion, but the pain of how they dumbed down Morrowind stingeth still. ** Whoever translated and/or wrote the dialogue for TLJ obviously learned english from old episodes of 'saved by the bell' and 'double dare.'

Interesting choices so far!
This is totally not a bump disguised as a meaningless post.

I'm surprised not that many people have donethis. I always find it fun to ry and pick my absolute favorite, which is hard for me to pick just one. A great question would be favorite/worst ending, and maybe favorite credits. I hope more people join in!

It was a bit sarcastic, but we've had tons of threads like this before. It goes in cycles. The old ones drift away and then someone new will come in and start one. It can be a little difficult to search for them, because they may have obvious titles, but sometimes they don't.

Sarcastic? No Fantasysci5, beyond sarcastic, it's called despair. When you've been around for five years, you'll know what I mean. It's the way of the Internet. Evolution, yes. But no real change.

I've been a member of a forum since late 1999, so you have no idea how many times I've seen arguments recycled. Pah, kids these days, don't know they're born...... *grumble*

I've poked fun at the tons of "Rank Your Fave Games", which I purposely try to do in a fun/humorous way, and also the reason I tried to change it up here - by including a Worst Game/Puzzles, etc and also a gateway to more interesting questions - the character was one I was most interested in, it gives me a peek into who people identify with. Finally, ranking games is just one way to open up a discussion onto greater issues. Talking about why you like/love a character/game/puzzle is just one way for people to trade perspectives on games. I find it interesting and fascinating and a great way to hear about games I might not hear about otherwise. * I'm not kidding here, I may have taken this a bit personally, but as someone who is very much interested in being an active member here, your sarcastic post very much did so.

Please don't feel unwelcomed, Gonzosports. A thread like this may have been done before, but I personally like sharing my opinions on what I think of games, and seeing what other people like.

But of course I meant these AG forums only. Started reading them in 2002, became an active member in 2003 (went away for a couple of months, came back in 2005). I've been on the Internet since early 1995. Dial-up, very expensive for us Europeans. It was so wonderful to be able to talk to people all over the world! Work-related discussions mostly, although I also visited very active and interesting Usenet gaming groups like comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.adventure. |
