Default Why Indigo Prophecy 2 May Never Happen

Well I can't say I was really surprised, when I read the news.

Read all about it right here.

I am happy, david has more sense than i thought.
And believe me there will be new breed of fans after HR, and people will forget this game.

The last 1/4 of Indigo Prophecy took a nosedise into absurdity, I don't know if you could make a sequel to it even if you wanted to.

Not that bothered.

Not every game/book/etc requires a sequel. If any of them require sequels.

I kind of thought the first game stood on its own decently enough. I agree with Lucien, not everything has to be a freakin' franchise. It's reassuring to know that Quantic Dream is going to do something a little different, not just the same thing over and over again. I'd be VERY excited about Heavy Rain if I had a PS3.

I remember discussions here where people were pissed or disappointed at Tim Schaefer for not making a Grim Fandango 2. I almost wanted to post and scold them and tell them, "Let it go, for gawd's sake! The guy's not interested, okay?! Leave him alone already!"

Quote:
So Cage started dreaming up Indigo Prophecy 2. That's when he realized the game just wasn't in him any more, none of it. "So I started thinking of Indigo 2 but I quickly realized I had nothing more to say on this story and these characters..."
I have to agree completely with nomadsoul's POV (though, I'm not necessarily surprised that 'David' has sense - I don't know him at all).

If you look at what Mr. Cage said in the quote I quoted, it's actually very encouraging.

One thing we don't need is half-hearted . I'd rather have nothing six-times-over than less-than-zero junkware that I spend time and money on... and then more time getting it on and off my system.

There's nothing wrong with a sequel at all, but like you say, you've got to want it!

If the creator has nothing left for the character's then that's fine by me. Certainly better than the studio being forced to make a sequel like a lot of more successful games. It seems that generating new IP is at the top of Quantic Dreams list in terms of business goals.
