First of all, hello to everyone. I've been reading the forums for some time now and been impressed with the overall quality of the posts, so I decided to register now.

About the poll, I really liked some of the games released this year, but I'll go for Sam & Max Season Two, they're very enjoyable games and few other games ever made me laugh as much as I did playing them.

The majority of those I haven't played. Some I wouldn't even consider, so my vote goes to Sam and Max Season 2. I just got A Vampyre Story in the mail, and I'm looking forward to it, but I don't think it will top Sam and Max.

Overall this year wasn't very good for adventure games IMO.

Penumbra is pretty great. It and Sam & Max are pretty much the only games I even enjoyed on that list though. The rest I couldn't stomach.

Out of the choices you gave it would be Perry Rhodan but I had to vote for "Other" as Perry came in 3rd for my game of the year behind

#1.The Lost Crown
#2. Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches

I only played Overclocked and Perry Rhodan from that list and only finished Overclocked, so I reallly don´t know if any of the games listed is better and have to vote for Overclocked.
I also played (and hated) Stinking Island, (and disliked) Jack Keane and (and enjoyed) Simon the Sorcerer 4 this year, but Overclocked is my nr. 1 right now.

I really don't know what people so dislike in A Vampyre Story. It's clear for me: AVS IS the game of the year!

The Lost Crown is by far the best adventure game of 2008 I have played so I had to go with "other".

No-one can ever think of all the possible options for polls like these. This is what "Other" was invented for.

I chose Perry Rhodan simply because playable scifi adventure games are so few and far between these days. I want to try Overclocked as soon as I can though.

I also enjoyed Time Hollow on the DS. Shame it was on the short side.

Didn't play that many adventure games that came out this year, mainly played older titles. In fact, the best one I played this year actually came out in '07 - Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder. I agree it wasn't the greatest year for adventure games - hopefully next year will (and should) be better.

If I had to vote for one though, I'd vote for Overclocked.
