The Neverhood
Is The Neverhood a worthwhile play? Can you compare it to any other game?

Neverhood is an unique interactive experience, a must have.
A feature film based on The Neverhood is currently being created, with Doug TenNapel itself directing. |

It's more or less a puzzle game with a cartoony setting.
There are few characters, the plot is very thin (but still fun), and you have to take notes to solve the puzzles. |

One of the true greats, a must have for any adventure game fan.
Maybe with the movie they should re-release the game for the latest OS on DVD with some special features included including that "Making of" that came with the game originally |

Just finished it and I have to say it was pretty good. A little silly in places and some of the puzzles are hard as hell, but it's worth playing.

I thought it was fantastic, quirky fun puzzles and great music. I can't imagine what a movie would be like, but I would watch it, for sure!

On my 25 best games list. You must play it and feel lucky to be able to get it. I keep it handy just to hear Leon Redbone do his thing. As far as comparisons go, it's unique. If you like claymation you'll love it.

It was a bit heavy on puzzles for my tastes. So, if you are into puzzles go for it by all means. If not, cheat a little, like I did, because the animation is hilarious and very original.

Don't suppose there's a way of buying it cheap?

Wow, I just checked out some of the eBay listings and I feel kind of bad that my friend just gave this game to me for free about a year ago because he knew I liked adventure games, and it was just some old game nobody plays anymore to him.
I got a bit stuck and put it down for a while, I must say though I really love the look. The animations are some of the most fluid and expressive I've ever seen in claymation. Apparently this is due to Doug Tenapple's insistence on the animation to match the storyboards. |
