You're telling me they're REALLY going to READ hundreds of angry mails spreading more or less the same message?

He knows because he is Jake. The Jake.

Have they told you anything yet?

Sorry about that Jake, I already sent a mail to the PR department and encourage more of the same from anyone and everyone flaming about this move on LEC's part.

So I continue to at least hope they will read them all.

Just cranky about them stifling all forms of discontent about the cancellation on the forum. The Sam n Max thread(s) weren't the only ones that deal with issues other than tech ones at that forum. Just the only ones that are slamming mad. If they had gone through and deleted/locked every thread that talked about games on issues outside of tech support issues, it still would have been lame - but at least it would have been consistant.

This is of course a PR trick.

Or they're just counting the e-mails to see if it's worth finishing and releasing the game.

I'd so like to believe that.

I'd also like to believe that but It would make me kind of mad if they were playing with our emotions like that. I'd still but the game though

Now that i think about it, thats a pretty good idea. Instead of putting online surveys up, they cancel the game to see how many people object to it. maybe thats why there are no screenshots, because maybe the game isnt even in development yet. cunning methinks.

I hate the fact that this has to be my first post here... But there are some very, very nice looking screenshots floating around. They make me all the more upset about the whole situation. The game was definitely nearing completion, if Steve Purcell was telling the truth.

As pleasant as it is to remain optimistic and positive about these things, I think it's safe to assume the company has given this game the axe, what with Steve Purcell commenting on this, amidst others.

I just can't believe they made such an irrational decision and made themselves 2 million in debt with the click of ones fingers.

That's not good business at all.

You're 100% right. There will probably never be another Lucasarts adventure game, let alone Sam and Max 2. I'd like to see less talk about Lucasarts, and more talk about how possible it would be for another company to hire the dev team, pick up the shattered remnants of the game and finish it, then publish it.

They wouldn't have to count the emails by hand anyway, they could just set their email software to detect all the emails with 'Sam', 'Max', S&M' or 'you f-ing suck' in them.

I notice Tim has been making one or two sly little comments over at the Double Fine web site, which is nice.

It's true that this might just be a big stunt. Think about it...they've cancelled the game and created such a hoopla in the community about it that if they did release it, there would be a huge demand and it would be a big seller. So who knows.

I think the whole PR-stunt theory is ridiculous and I wish people would stop repeating it. No offence.

The fact that some people are even saying it might just be a publicity stunt just goes to show you how ludicrous the decision to cancel Sam & Max was.
