You just gotta play the Gabriel Knight and Broken Sword games, pal. You're really missing out if you don't. Those games have a lot of great historical references and oodles of mystery. Don't let the graphics put you off (esp. in Gabriel Knight 1). I found them too pixelated and dated when i first played it, but after reading the novel and then replaying it, i loved it. I should replay it again soon.

And Broken Sword 1 & 2 were done in 96-97 but the cartoon graphics are still great even by today's standards.

For mystery you might just consider Tunguska Secret Files. There's also Belief and Betrayal which is okay but feels a bit unpolished in my opinion.

I have beaten Secret Files Tunguska and I loved it, any games like it?

BTW, I'm going to test Belief and Betrayal, it seems nice

I recently heard that Secret Files 2 is coming soon, really looking forward to play it

I played Belief & Betrayal and I didn't like it, the game itself was to cheap, bad graphics too.
