Did you read Jane's blog, rtrooney?

First the bad things: the characters still move strangely and I can't understand a single word of the German text.

The good things: all the rest. The unnerving music (even if I don't think it's Robert Holmes), David Styles, the new location showed (awesome, very detailed), the lighting effects... pretty much everything! :D

What a day!

On the Gray Matter website turn the language to English by clicking on the British/USA flag, then watch the trailer with English text.

I've got to say, this comes as a massive relief. The new art is stunningly awesome. There's a distinctive Gabriel Knight graphic novel-like vibe to some of that art. Especially this one. (The guys hair reminds me of Gabriel Knight in the GK3 comic especially. ;)) I'm really liking the look of the new locations too -- a little more stylized and iconic. Some atmospheric stuff. It's good to have the blog as well!

Thanks! I didn't even think of it... It must that I was way too excited! :D

@D. C.: you're right, the two styles are indeed very similar, which is a wonderful thing! :D

Well, finally. That concept art does look pretty cool, though I'd prefer to have seen some real screenshots rather than artworks. The trailer is quite interesting as well.

It's great that Jane Jensen has made a blog post explaining what happened; I just wish she could have done it three months ago. Anyway, I'm still somewhat skeptical, but rather less so than I was.

Yes and I think the game delivery is still iffy. That's to say that there's nothing in the blog that hints of a delivery date.....or for that matter.....even if there will be one.

I wonder if the new gray matter blog was a response in any way to all of the grumbling on this forum?

hmmm......:shifty:

Here's a new trailer. It's in German.

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/40072.html

It says:

If reality was only an illusion...
If you had the power to change the course of things...
How far would you go...
To save the person who means everything to you from their destiny?
Next year you have to ask yourself the question who you REALLY are.

Sounds positive (and very well written!)

Time will tell if anything comes of it!

Jane Jensen's blog does seem to be updated on a monthly basis, though it doesn't really qualify as news postings. Still, I find the stuff she puts there to be very interesting.

I hope this game is still coming out. I've been waiting for it for...a long time, now.

AndreaDraco83 05-13-2009 10:33 AM

We all hope it...

Kazmajik 05-14-2009 06:28 AM

We seem to be in a dry spell as far as GM news goes. No blog updates since February. I was briefly excited when I saw that Wizarbox finally updated their website, but there's no mention of Gray Matter anywhere there, so you'd never know they had anything to do with its development.
:frusty:

And Betty, an Administrator over at the DTP forum, confirmed that Gray Matter won't be showed at the upcoming E3...

... I'm speechless.

dekaneas297 05-14-2009 06:55 AM

The whole situation is turning into a joke. A complete joke. :frusty:

Ascovel 05-14-2009 08:43 AM

I can easily wait another year if needed.

Neptin 05-14-2009 09:24 AM

German release: October 30, 2009.

Xbox 360:

AndreaDraco83 05-14-2009 09:38 AM

I will trust an Amazon release date when GK4 will be produced.

So I hope soon :)

QDream 05-14-2009 10:50 AM

I haven't really looked into this game before but can someone give me a brief explanation why is it being pushed back numerous times? I think I've heard about it in like 2005..
