A Vampyre Story
A new adventure game coming out in 2008, written by Bill Tiller (Of MI3 and The Dig fame) it seems like it'll be very simularly made to MI4, its said to use a mix of 3D and 2D animation, and it's going to be a comedy.
You play a Parisian opera singer turned vampire and her little vampire bat accomplice. Being released by two companies I've never heard of before: Crimson cow and Autumn moon entertainment.. which appears to have been founded by Tiller. Heres the trailer: http://uk.gamespot.com/users/VixTain...Q7xWT95b8FuDbf Looking over it again, it does look VERY simular to MI4 Hurray for LucasArts' castouts reforming for the greater good!

I think the game looks, and is trying to be, much more like MI3 than MI4 (it's being made by MI3s lead artist, and I think it shows). It is point 'n click and features hand drawn 2D backgrounds, both of which were true for MI3 and neither for MI4. Even what we've seen of the interface looks remarkably similar to MI3. Of course, nobody's seen the gameplay in motion, so we'll see!

Yes, but notice the way the sleeves of the hunters top are blockish, remind you of Lechucks hand motions in MI4? I think it'll probably show strong simularities to both.

We've had a lot of coverage of this game here at Adventure Gamers:
A Vampyre Story game info page If you scroll down, there are quite a few news items, a hands-on preview from the 2007 Game Developers Conference and an interview with Bill Tiller (conducted by Marek Bronstring). |

I am thrilled it is point and click. Can you imagine how much better MI4 would be if it was point and click?

Not that much better. The dialog and story was a let down, at least for me.

I am eagerly waiting for A Vampyre Story. I like that the graphics look more like MI3 than MI4, at least to me.

Hmmm... can't say I'm a big fan of that "glowing" effect on the skin tones and background actually: I wonder if it can be turned off or if I'll get used to it.
However, I wonder how the story will work out.

Of course I can't wait for this one! Hopefully the US release will be sooner rather than later in 2008.

If I'm not mistaken the "awesome"-idea is actually based on yours.

Although the humour on the trailer was a lil' lame I'll enjoy this for exploring the beautiful locations if anything else.
I love the pick of the house right above the water. And is that nutty bat trying to hit on her when shes transformed? |
