Only on puzzles where you have to remember something, and the game characters doesn't 'remember' it. For example some password or phrase you have to use, but your character doesn't know it when you interact with computer for instance.

I take notes on basically every adventure game I play, even the easy ones - just in case I forget something Sometimes, I also draw small sketches - of symbols, diagrams and stuff. For Gabriel Knight 3, this was absolutely crucial because it's such a complex game. When a character in a game says something that could be of importance later on, I write that down. Or I make to-do-lists so I won't forget what to do next.

Nancy Drew: Secret of the Scarlet hand I found myself taking down loads of notes.
Um, I think Journey to the center of the eart and Schizm 2 it definately helped. Funniest thing, whilst playing Another Code on DS, Spoiler:

I do that all the time too. Nowadays I don't have time to play every day and since my memory is so lousy I always make a short list of what to do next.
