Default 3rd-person Adventuregames

Sorry if there is a topic about this, tried search and couldn't find anything (might be that I suck at searching too..)

Anyway, what are you absolute favourite 3rd-person adventuregames? The reason I ask is because I have some trouble finding good 3rd-person adventuregames. I don't really like 1st-person so.. Any tips are most welcome.

The games I've played so far (and liked..) are:
- Syberia 1 and 2.
- Journey to the Center of the earth
- The longest journey
- Dreamfall
- Runaway 1 & 2
- Tunguska
- Undercover - Operation wintersun
- Black Mirror 1
- Broken Sword 1, 2 and 3
- Some of "Cleopatra - A queens destiny".
- Agatha Christie - Murder on the Orient express
- Still life
- Return to Mysterious Island
-... and the usual stuff like Monkey island series, Sam&Max and all of the Lucasarts releases (mostly atleast..)

And the list goes on and I'm sure i've forgotten so many but this is just so you see ca. what I'm into.

Thanks in advance.

well, if u mean all time best games with 3rd person view, right now i can think of monkey island series (2 and 3 are my favourites), simon the sorcerer 1 and 2, day of the tentacle, broken sword 1 and 2, gabriel knight 1 and 2, full throttle..

as far for newer games, the best is al emmo and the lost duchmans mine

also, i cant believe they put sherlock holmes in first person view. not bad for horror oriented game like awakened, but for arsene lupin it should really be classic thrid person view

Don't forget about the Sierra Adventures. You can still get the new collections for ~$15-20 US.

This is really helpful. I know its weird, but I can't seem to get into most first person adventure games. I've tried (really) but its a combination of the frequent static images, the solitary interactive screensaver feel, and just the overall "geekiness" that puts me off. I know I should be more open minded but the only one I've ever really liked was, I kid you not, Lighthouse.

When we finally get the search engine in the Games A-Z database up and running, you'll be able to look for third person games specifically (plus any other characteristics you're interested in).

Wolfrider, I know exactly what you mean, and I have all the same reasons to leave 1:st person games alone. Altough I enjoyed for example "Lost In Time" and some others.. the feeling is somewhat too "Game-like" and not "real-life-like" if you catch my thought

My favourites are probably the Gabriel Knight series, Grim Fandango, KQ series... I just finished Culpa Innata and I liked it a lot despite some of the bugs.
