Post every adventure game you've finished
I apologize if everyone is sick of lists, and if you are, please feel free to ignore this one. I did a Forum Search first and it seemed the last thread to talk about this was four years ago, so I figured it was safe to bring it up again.
Now me, I love lists. :D That's why I can just copy and paste from my Adventure Games Excel spreadsheet with ease to start this topic. I've got 61 total, if you count KQ8. Only three are for platforms other than the PC (two for NES, and one for DS, labelled below) -- but when I have time, I should be adding a few more DS games on there. Adventures of Willy Beamish Beavis & Butthead Do U Beavis & Butthead in Virtual Stupidity Broken Sword 1: Shadow of the Templars Conquests of Camelot Curse of Monkey Island Day of the Tentacle déjÃ* vu (NES) Dig, The EcoQuest 1: The Search for Cetus Escape from Monkey Island Full Throttle Gabriel Knight 1: Sins of the Fathers Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned Grim Fandango Hugo 1: House of Horrors Hugo 2: Whodunit? I seem to own a ton of adventure games, yet I have a problem with finishing them. So far:
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars Colonel's Bequest Curse of Monkey Island Dark Eye Day of the Tentacle Duckman Kings Quest 5, 7 Kyrandia 1 and 2 Journeyman project 2 Phantasmagoria Realms of the Haunting Return to Mysterious Island Toonstruck |
This list contains games I'm done with, including 3 that I didn't finish, but won't attempt again (italic):

I must say that I have played every game that I have been interested in playing. I now live from release date to release date. Just finished Delaware St John: The Seacliff Tragedy.

Typical Cancerian, me. I tend to start things and then get bored with them. So although my "played" list is extremely long, my "finished" list is pathetic. Here all the adventures I can remember playing to a conclusion, in rough chronological order:
Some of the Scott Adams adventures, but I can't remember now which I finished and which I gave up on or never played. Planetfall Zork 1 Metal Mutant, if you consider it an adventure D-Generation, if you consider it an adventure The Chaos Engine, if you consider it an adventure Myst Shivers Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh Physicus Monkey Island 1 ...and that more or less takes us from the 1970s to a couple of months ago. There may be a few others that I've forgotten. EDIT: I forgot The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour, again on the fringe of what I would call adventures, but they seem to be accepted here. I've made a vow that I'll try harder to avoid starting new games until I finish what I'm playing. |
Hah, not many for me.
All 4 Monkey Island games All 3 Gabe Knight games Sam and Max Hit The Road Day Of The Tentacle Full Throttle The Dig Discworld Noir All 4 Broken Sword games In Memoriam Hmmm... Any more? Can't think now. GAMES STILL PLAYING THROUGH : The Longest Journey Evidence : The Last Ritual |
Here's my list:

Discworld Noir Dracula: The Resurrection Escape from Monkey Island Full Throttle Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers Grim Fandango Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis Jack Orlando - Director's Cut Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Riven - The Sequel to Myst Runaway: A Road Adventure Sam & Max Hit the Road Sam & Max - Season One, Episode 1: Culture Shock Scratches Secret Files: Tunguska Simon the Sorcerer Simon the Sorcerer II: The Lion, the Wizard and the Wardrobe Simon the Sorcerer 3D Still Life Syberia The 11th Hour - The sequel to The 7th Guest The Beast Within - A Gabriel Knight Mystery The Black Mirror The Longest Journey The Moment of Silence The Curse of Monkey Island The Secret of Monkey Island Titanic: Adventure Out of Time The majority of these i used a walkthrough on. :frown: ;( I think that's the whole list anyway. God, even though it feels like i've completed a LOT of adventure games, looking at the list it isn't really that big. Now i'm having second thoughts on posting this... oops too late *runs away to hide*. |
Here's my list. I've been playing games since 2000. The ones in bold I no longer own.

Wow! Greyfuss and Colpet are super-players. But I can't believe how few Sierra games are on everyone's lists so far... I'd always assumed games like King's Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Quest For Glory, etc. -- were like the essential Adventure games. Sierra games were what got me into Adventures in the first place, but I guess it's different for everyone.

When I think of classic Sierra games I think of the following Sierra games that got me into Adventures... Lighthouse: The Dark Being Phantasmagoria Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh Shivers Shivers 2: Harvest of Souls Rama Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within True, the Adventure genre is the most diverse in taste and might be why we are so hard to please as a whole. I was not interested in any of the Quest or Larry games. . |

I even remember, back in the day, I had to write a letter to Sierra to ask them how to get past some of the tricky bits in Quest for Glory 4. It was cheaper than the hintline, but it took a while... I don't know how many letters the first Gabriel Knight game made me send... |

Wow...my list is gonna be pretty short, especially since I can't remember some of the ones from the 90's. This list is in no particular order.
Full Throttle Syberia The Longest Journey Dreamfall Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon Secrets of the Ark (Broken Sword 4) Ripley's Believe It or Not!: The Riddle of Master Lu Under a Killing Moon Escape from Monkey Island Spycraft: The Great Game Curse: The Eye of Isis The Dig Return to Mysterious Island The X-Files Game Bureau 13 (ugh) Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis Secrets of Atlantis (again, ugh) Blade Runner Indigo Prophecy |
Lessee. My own personal list:
The 7th Guest/The 11th Hour A Mind Forever Voyaging Beneath a Steel Sky Day of the Tentacle The Dig Gabriel Knight 1-3 Grim Fandango Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis King's Quest 6 (and 1 & 2, sorta) Leisure Suit Larry 3 Maniac Mansion Monkey Island 1-4 Police Quest 1-3 Sanitarium The Space Bar Space Quest 1-6 You know, it looks kind of piddly when you write it out like that. Peace & Luv, Liz |
The 7th Guest
Space Quest 1-6 King's Quest 7 Leisure Suit Larry 1 Gabriel Knight 1-3 The Neverhood Kyrandia 3 Starship Titanic Myst 1&3 Riven Lighthouse Shivers 1-2 Phantasmagoria Return to Zork Zork: Grand Inquisitor Goblins 3 I've got a lot to go... |
Myst
Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness Monkey Island 1 Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Day of the Tentacle Full Throttle Grim Fandango The Longest Journey Syberia Syberia II Indigo Prophecy Yeah, I have some catching up to do. |
Lets just say that in order to create some list like this, it would be too long and I very likely couldn't even remember half of the games names.
