looking for a good game
we loved playing barrow hill and would like to know if there are any games similar to it in the first person style. We did not like nancy drew games and all the talking that took place and all the interaction with characters. we thought of trying scratches. any suggestions of other games.

Welcome to the AG forums. I moved your thread to the Adventure section.
Before I give you anything specific, have a look at this game recommendation thread. There might be something in the Spooky game category that you'd be interested in (or if anything else catches your eye). I've played both Barrow Hill and Scratches and really liked them both. Scratches recently released a Director's cut that you may want to look for. If you have any other questions, ask. |

Dark Fall is very similar to Barrow Hill, I'm sure you'll love it. It's older than Barrow Hill and had a sequel, Dark Fall 2: Lights Out. Most people prefer the first Dark Fall though.

Scratches is also very similar to Barrow Hill, but it's not really good.

Personally, I'd recommend Scratches. It was probably my favorite adventure game of the last year (other than Dreamfall, which I also really enjoyed). Good spooky game! The Dark Fall series is probably a good choice, too, although I never got into them for some reason. But they are similar in game play and style to Barrow Hill, so they might be good for you.

thanks for help
thanks for the help. we are going to try dark fall, but does anyone have any underground suggestions? we really like the first person perspective style games like barrow hill. nancy drew just doen't do it for me. I can't get use to talking to a cartoon figure on a screen.

Your request sounds pretty similiar to this thread
http://forums.adventuregamers.com/sh...ad.php?t=20153 If you like first person perspective type games , you can try your hand on these ... Realm of the Haunting http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/re...f-the-haunting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Realms_of_the_haunting http://www.realmsofthehaunting.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axwejCPEQMo AMBER: Journeys Beyond http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMBER:_Journeys_Beyond http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0484818/ http://www.mobygames.com/game/amber-journeys-beyond/ And if you want it somewhat more action oriented though Call of Cthulhu : dark corners of the earth http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of...s_of_the_Earth http://www.mobygames.com/game/window...s-of-the-earth |
