Default Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Wed March 28 2007

This is one great game in my book. It had tons of puzzles, a gripping story line and lots to do. The game is long and the plot spans 4 years. I thought the acting was good too, but then, I love FMV games.

I guess I'll check this game out then.
Colpet's and Mel's advice usually suits me perfect.

The thing that's stopping me from buying this game is that because its difficult to play. I mean, all those hard puzzles...and I hate puzzles, especially the hard, cofusing and exhausting ones... :/

Nice game. I remember losing one of the CD's because they came wrapped individually and it went walk about somewhere, i did find it eventually so i could finish the game.

Truly a great game. But, while some of the puzzles were fairly easy, others bordered on maniacal. How many times was the phrase "NOT ANOTHER DOOR" uttered?

Good news is that there is a hex key that can be used to solve all of the puzzles. I don't recommend it. But it's there.

Two good friends, Olga Karkalas and Janet Blackburn wrote the first WT that I know of. Olga did the play-by-play while Janet did the hex codes.

I can post the WT if anyone is interested, but it is in the "arcaic" MSWord format which seems to be frowned upon by people who insist on html graphics.

I also loved this game! Good story, good puzzles (don't mean the Myst like puzzles), indeed good acting, lots of FMV and ofcourse Dennis Hopper!

Nice dark plot with a great ending.

Ow, thank God for the "skip-the-impossible-puzzles" codes.

Anybody remember the I-got-runes-in-a-bag-and-I-don't-know-how-to-solve-this puzzle?

If a screenshot courtesy of MobyGames is used, it would be nice to include a link. The site is built through the submissions of users, in Wikipedia-style but more controlled, and help in the adventure section is appreciated

Sorry, I needed help on just getting the picture up . Thanks for rectifying my oversight.

Black Dahlia is a great FMV game, although the last part is not so good, both story and puzzlewise, culminating in two incredibly yucky and distasteful endings. I too found a lot of a couple of the stand-alone puzzles impossible... but Jim Pearson and his investigations made it worthwhile.

Black Dahlia is the best FMV adventure i've played and it has an incredible storyline. I enjoyed most of the puzzles, there were about 2-3 that were impossible. And the ending was awesome!

Very difficult in parts but a good game overall. Had a few nice Easter eggs in it as well.

Good game, but still has some flaws from "Ripper": absurd puzzles that STOP the action. And the ammount of information you must cope with can be a bit overwhelming. Still, a great effort.
