@ Rasher
Just checked my North American version too (Tri Synergy: Barcode 99030 11168) with protection identifier program. Anti copy protection is detected as Securom version 4.84.81 Don't know what version you have in mind, but Melanie68 is absolutely correct...you will need to check with someone who has it and hopefully, get them to run a scan. What a rigmarole eh!! I'm tempted to say I'd risk Starforce for Runaway. Then again, I remember the difficulties it caused for some on Silent Hunter 3...so I won't! |

Maybe instead of just complaining about the inaccuracies of lists, you should contact the site admin when you notice an error. I've updated the list. Most of the info comes second hand as I obviously don't have all these games, and there are bound to be errors.
Hell, if you don't like to email, just go edit the wiki. |

all information I can find says it uses TAGES 5.5.2.1, so from what I can find - it doesn't have starforce. I don't own the game though, so you have to take it with a grain of salt

I think Myst IV used SafeDisc and Myst V used SecuROM. Neither used S***Force anyway.
And I read Ankh: Heart of Osiris was going to use a code wheel. Don't know about the other two. |

Ankh: Heart of Osiris (UK) doesn't.
Starforce are a load of crap. I don't know why companies are still involved with them. |

Just to add to the discussion about those lists, with Runaway 1 as an example. The North American version published by Tri Synergy has never used Starforce. Some European releases DID have Starforce. The newly released DVD version of Runaway in Europe only uses a simple DVD check routine for copy protection. No Starforce. So these lists are actually often wrong even concerning original releases of games, and can definitely not be trusted when it comes to later "budget" releases of games, which, for reasons of costs and the fact that the game more often than not has been cracked anyway, rarely uses more advanced copy protection schemes than CD- or DVD checks. Those "I Hate Starforce" lists rarely (never) take this into account.
