Cyberpunk adventures?

Hey guys. Long time lurker, first time poster. After finishing Blade Runner yet again for the nth time, I was hoping you could recommend a couple of sci-fi/cyberpunk adventures for me? I've played through Blade Runner, Neuromancer, The Longest Journey/Dreamfall and probably a few others I've forgotten, but I'm not really sure whats out there.

Themewise I'm definately after something approaching Blade Runner (not necessarily gameplay wise though...the action sequences in Blade Runner were a bit poorly done). Eagerly looking forward to playing through what you guys recommend and glad I've finally made the move to join the forums.

Thanks in advance =)

Bloodnet is one of my favorite adventure games.

If you are looking for a great cyberpunk, get Bioforge. And then you can try Dreamweb. Both of them are a little older though.

If you liked Blade Runner, you'll absolutely love Snatcher. Here's a review:

Unfortunately, it's not a pc game. It was on Sega CD. However, if you can track a copy down, it's fully and easily emulatable.

Here are some instructions and, um, other things ;):

Snatcher is cool too.

The MSX2 version of Snatcher, in English and Portuguese:

Needs a real MSX2 computer or a MSX2 emulator like http://www.bluemsx.com

Beneath a Steel Sky if you havent played it. You can get it for free at http://www.scummvm.org/downloads.php

You should also try out I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

Oh and the Tex Murphy-games!! How could i forget them?

And if you want to punish yourself.

Try the FMV Johnny Mnemonic. :D

Also, there's Nightlong and the older Rise of the Dragon. Maybe Normality as well, but I am not quite sure about the setting of this game, just an impression of it being vaguely cyperpunk.. I could be miles away on that since I haven't played it.

And Ripper!

aries323 03-12-2007 10:12 AM

I think there's a game called Scrapland or something. It sets you as someone who does a lot og biking around in the gameworld where you must solve murders and puzzles etc.

A somewhat older game, Septerra Core could also be interesting.

The Sega CD version is emulated as well, and that version is a lot better.

Sure, but as an active MSX2 user I will always suggest the MSX version. :D

Circuit's Edge. It's ancient (from 1990), but a real gem.

http://www.mobygames.com/game/circuits-edge

Edit: And it's from Westwood Studios, who also did Blade Runner.

QFG 03-13-2007 11:54 AM

NEUROMANCER!!!!

Can't recommend it enough, no matter how dated it is by now.

They couldnt afford Keanu Reeves for the game version of Johnny Mnemonic, and maybe thats a good thing.

B.A.T. I and II are some truly atmospheric cyberpunk adventures. Highly recommended, if only to interact with (by 90's standards) vivid gameworld, since they kind of lack real puzzles.
