Default Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Fri 2nd March 2007

Ooh, murder! Blood! Gore!

I must confess that I hated The 11th Hour at first, with its silly treasure hunts and its disjointed story-telling, but it got better after a while -- though the plot remained cheesy and the acting mostly annoying.

Well that game sure looks bad... Is the whole game built up by real-life graphics?

The ingenuity of the puzzles was the grab in the 11th hour, especially the "end of the hour" puzzles. These were largely an extension of the virus puzzle idea in the first game (one almost literally) but having agame you played against an opponent rather than a passive solvable added to the enjoyability.

The plot sucked big time though, especially compared to the complex but considered original.

No, it was prerendered 3D, which looked very good for its time.

Unfortunately, I never got past the first few puzzles - the game was kind of fun, though.

Phew, that sure cured my prejudice about that game... From the first look of it, I got a really bad impression...

I love creepy games. Is there by any chance this is worth playing cause I've heard two million terrible things about it.

Agreed.

I'll really have to try this out sometime in the future. I remember seeing it on a shelf in a Target years ago, but never played it myself. It doesn't seem that bad to me, but then again, I'm new to the adventure gaming scene... and I'm extremely lenient when it comes to the quality of my games.

I played it years ago but never got very far because it was really hard... much harder than T7G I think. I doubt I'll ever give it another try with so many modern games keeping me busy. Still, it did have really cool CD packaging.
