And remember that, just because we choose one over the other, it doesn't stop us doing a playthrough of the other game at a later date! (if there is enough interest)

I'd like to know too. Never heard of the game. It's originally Russian, I believe? A rare two-disk game, they say at JustAdventure. If I try to find it, more items about some boot loader show up than the game itself.

Yes.... "Gag" is, to put it mildly, NOT "safe for work" as far as searching the internet -- as you might (or might not) anticipate...
Anyway, this will help narrow it down: "GAG" "Unplugged Adventure" |

I´d join GAG (never played it before) & Broken Sword (would be my 5th or 6th playthrough)

I would go for Overseer, but I tried to get it working on a modern PC years ago and failed miserably.

BTW, GAG works flawlessly on Win XP (SP 2 here).

GoG Overseer works pretty good on my Win7 x64. It has crashed once or twice, otherwise no problems.

There's a diagnostic program on the GAG install disc (aptly named PCINFO.EXE) that checks your system and tells you if you need to change something: Now back to the Davis Cup .

Thanks, Zobraks, I didn't know about that useful file on the disk. If anybody has questions about starting GAG, feel free to send me a PM.
So, Luna, Seagul, Matt, Little Writer, Zobraks, Crabapple, Skeeter and any other interested posters... when would you like to start the playthrough? It's a short game, will take us two or three weeks at the most to finish. Next week, or is that too soon? |

Any time you (and the others) choose is fine with me, but don't wait too long to start the thread.

So, where can you get this game? Seems quite unlikely everyone would find it in a week. I don't even know where to start looking.

I have nothing else to play to play at the moment, so I'm ready when you guys are
I got GAG running on windows 98, and surprisingly it also seems to work with no problems on windows 7. I recall not being able to install it on XP, that it crahsed on the autorun. I guess those options mentioned by Fien and Zobraks would have done the trick. Ah well, I got it working on windows 98, for which it's made, so that would be fine. (sorry about the useless flood of words, I guess I am just over-excited to start playing GAG again and to be part of a playthrough again). @everyone who is looking for the game: I searched every second-hand online storeI know, but so far no luck. My best bet would be Dutch second-hand stores, but the ones I checked didn't have it...) I was lucky that my dad once found a copy of it, and that I could steal his.

I was lucky enough my uncle went to the war tribunal in The Hague (Den Haag, Netherlands), so he brought GAG to me, as a souvenir.

I was thinking we'd need a couple of weeks to find the game. But I realised I'm going to be gone the whole month of August (going to the UK and Europe, yay!) so next week is good so that I can finish before I go. I just have to find the game now...don't suppose GOG will have it?
And me! |
