Well, let's just say that I would like to see the sequel to every game that ended with a "To be continued..."

Anachronox, Still Life and Runaway 2 for example.

LOOM, obviously. That "ending" was ridiculous.

On top of Still Life, Obsidian and Shivers, I'd like to see a sequel -- at least in spirit -- to The Last Express. If Jordan Mechner got involved with a project set around the same time, using modern 3D techniques and cell shading to get that Mucha lineart style, I'd buy it without blinking. Heck, I'd actually like to make a game like that myself, but I don't have any immediate plans for a game that I would confidently call a spiritual successor to TLE. Perhaps a Little Nemoesque tale, or perhaps just an adventure game set in Europe prior to WWI, exploring those old palaces and cities and such to find and save certain lost historical figures or their heirlooms or whatever. I can almost see a way to do it now, actually. Hmmn...

If this is only about adventure games, then I'd say TLJ/Dreamfall needs a third part of course. (Though I still haven't started Dreamfall, but I've heard that it hasn't got an exactly clear ending...)

Then Still Life, which I haven't played either even though I own it.

Then of course Gabriel Knight 4.

Other games that I'd want to see made are Beyond Good&Evil 2, Max Payne 3, Little Big Adventure 3, Zak McKracken 2. I'm sure that there are several others if I really start thinking about this.

Discworld, Still Life, Grimfandango, Snatcher, Blade Runner, Shenmue, LJ/Dreamfall, Full Throttle.
Alot of these games are openended or tease prequal because there is supposed to be another game coming. It's just ashame that reasons beyond their control it doesn't happen leaving us

Two that come to mind are Timelapse and Rama, both of which had sequels planned but which didn't get done. Expecially with Rama, one had only half the story and the whole other side of the spacecraft to explore. Two of the main characters had gone missing but had left clues behind. Another character had been killed and we never knew why.

Oh yeah, Shenmue desperately needs a sequel, I forgot that.
And it needs to be done for Wii.

Definitely Loom.

Also I'd love to have endless sequels to Monkey Island.

I really hope TLJ3/Dreamfall 2 is made. I think it will be eventually, but it's just not soon enough.

BTW, this is my first post here. Hello! I've been playing adventure games since I was very young. It all started off by me watching my dad play them and helping him out at times. I think his first game was Robin Hood: Conquests of the Longbow. Soon I ventured into the genre myself and the rest was history. I've already played many games so far, and always look forward to new games coming out.

I think one more sequel to Monkey Island designed by Gilbert himself. Just to tie up the loose ends I mean you get to the end of EFMI and you really think "Is That IT?"

Hi Headbanger, welcome to the forums!

Fate of Atlantis was one of the adventures I enjoyed the most so I would definitely like to see a sequel to that. But since I'm still a Tex Murphy fan I would even more like to see a sequel to Overseer. It's a crime, ending with a cliffhanger and leaving your audience waiting in suspense for years...

Well, initially Shenmue was supposed to be divided into 16 chapters, if I'm not wrong... And they released 2 so far, so I hope they will release the rest, since it was the most expensive game ever. It was trully a masterpiece. And now they are working on Shenmue Online, I saw some videos while ago and it looked great.

Well yeah, but Shenmue 2 is supposedly something like chapters 4-7 or something like that while Shenmue 1 is only the chapter 1.

I remember reading that on some Shenmue related reliable website.

And it was originally intended to be a series of over 10 chapters, that is correct.

Wasn't Shenmue Online cancelled 1-2 years ago?

Well, the only really reliable source is Yu Suzuki himself But I read that somewhere also.

And I don't know much about Shenmue Online, I only recalled I saw some video from the game

Monkey Island 3 by Ron Gilbert, for sure.
Gabriel Knight 4 by, eh, Jane Jensen would be nice.
Eric the Uneady and Blackstone Chronicles by Bob Bates defenetly need sequels (they were actually planned, as far as I know).
Sam & Max needs the REAL sequel.
Little Big Adventure 3 will likely appear someday..
And Goblins 4 and Legend of Kyrandia 4 by the same teams would be great.
