I'm just making a sarcastic comment. I hear a horrifyingly sad piece of news and all you two can do is smirk and pat yourselves on the back for seeing it coming. I'm not in the greatest mood at the moment.

It isn't completely bad news. At least jane managed to separate herself from TAC. THAT is good news.

I suppose I agree. I'd rather see Jane Jenson working for her own company than for TAC.

Terabin, I'm not trying to start a war - you made a sarcastic comment, and I answered with one - no worse than yours. Sorry if it upset you. I'm sad about it too, believe me.

I'm not happy about the news myself, you know. In fact, the ONLY satisfaction that I have about the announcement is that I was able to predict it so accurately. It's mighty cold comfort, but it's all I've got. Gimme a break.

But was it Jane who separated herself from TAC, or vice-versa?

Jane said, “Dreamcatcher’s big adventure game titles like Broken Sword: Sleeping Dragon and Syberia have not been very profitable and they could not justify putting a large budget into the title so the game was put on hold.”
Nice prediciton though

So what was up with Jane Jensen's e-mail to me last week saying she'll be at E3 this year?

Maybe she'll be there for Booby Trap

Nah, I asked about Project Jane-J though. She said to expect more info at E3.

Well, it could mean that this event happened within one week. So the news is pretty fresh.

I think I still need some additional confirmation.

How about this directly from Jane herself, SerialFreak:

Some more answers...

Booby Trap is in production right now. I will be showing it at E3. It should be out in the August/Sept time frame.

Gray Matter has been on the shelf for quite some time. I didn't really want to talk about it until I had something positive to say -- that is, until I had something else I could talk about and not just have bad news. Perhaps that was not the best strategy.

Jane

Fuck. Someone e-mail me when Dreamfall is released. It still doesn't explain my e-mail. If it's been on the shelf for a while why give a misleading reply. (I re-read the e-mail and it doesn't actually specify that the game they'll be showing at E3 would be Project Jane-J, even though the question was about Project Jane-J) Also has it ever been referred to as Gray Matter since it adopted the name Project Jane-J? If it's true, at least a possibility is given of seeing the game in the future. I'd still like Adventure Gamers to confirm the news as well.

Here's the Gray Matter image that I linked to earlier in the FAQ, just incase it disappears for good. Hopefully this game will be taken off hold soon.

It'd be cool if Jane would give the script to Tierra, or some other good amateur developer, so that it doesn't all go to waste.

Nah, she should leave the U.S. and find a Canadian or European developer to work with her on it. Microids has a studio in Montreal right?
