It was developed by 2 of the game developers, Felipe Gómez Pinilla and Ramón Hernáez, but I don't know any of the engine specifics. I couldn't find any of that info when I searched.

because i remember seeing the name of the engine some where
the problem is i don't remember where it was..

With Wintermute engine and some good graphic artistic skills, you can make an adventure game like Runaway, but then again, you`ll need some skills.
