I read it last summer, and it was great. I had first seen the movie, and I thought it was marvellous.

But now that I have read that graphic novel, I can say that the novel is definately a lot superior than the movie, but that's no big surprise.

I should buy the novel someday, the one I read was from the local library...

From what I've seen so far, I don't think I'd pay more than $10 for the game.

That's an understatement. The movie failed to even come close to living up to the book. For one thing, Heather Graham was just about the worst possible casting pick I could imagine. Is it just me, or is Alan Moore doomed to an endless string of shitty movie adaptatations? I was hoping Terry Gilliam's production of Watchmen would change that, but it doesn't look like it will ever get made.

I thought From Hell was a pretty good movie.

Yeah, it wasn't terrible, but then I haven't seen it again after I read the comic... I might have a different view of it now...

Same here, I bought it on dvd couple of months ago, but still haven't watched it the crucial second time.

I wish I had gotten the graphic novel/comic first. It is excellent. Just picked it up last weekend. Book chain here has really enlarged their inventory base for graphic novels. About time.

Can I safely assume that the hj in your forum name stands for high jinx?

Buy all mediocre? Are you pulling our legs? That can only help to promote mediocre games. I'd rather have none if that's what we have to accept to satisfy our requirements.

Quality over quantity. Any day! Besides, how much money do you think we all have?

hj2004, that statement is awful. Just as Curt stated, supporting bad or mediocre games will only inform developers and publisher to make more of the same crap over and over and over and.... It also perpetuates that we adventure gamers are desperate for anything, no matter how embarassingly poor, as long as the 'Adventure Game' label is slapped on it. Get a grip on yourself, man! Are you really that desperate?

I'm sorry, but people like you are the reason TAC is still able to put out piles upon piles of shitty games again and again and again.

Yeah, it makes us adventure gamers look like desperate mongrels who'll eat anything thrown at us, no matter how old, putrid and moldy.

It makes us look really grateful. I don't want to be associated with that.

Not everything they release is shitty. I just bought Law and Order 1 and 2 last week. I'm halfway through L&O1 and enjoying it alot. Yes it has it's flaws but it's an above average game I'd say. And they published Broken Sword 3 too. It's people like him who've kept TAC around for so long that they can start picking up the better games, so it can't be all bad right? Not that I'd ever buy most of their rubbish of course...

Just as long as The Adventure Company is publishing Project Jane-J I've got no complaints about the company.

Oh, I know. I just mean that an attitude such as one hj's encourages to keep putting out the shitty ones as well. If people only bought their good titles, I get the feeling they'd allocate more funds to good games and marketing that doesn't suck QUITE as much as it does now, but at this point it's easier for them to just publish every adventure game they can, and if they stumble upon a good one from time to time it's sort of a bonus.
