Well I'm sold, I'm going to go out and buy a DS in the near future just because of this thread but first thing's first -
Why is the DS Lite better in comparison to the regular DS? And what colours do they come in? Do they have replaceable covers so that I can go buy a funky cover off of ebay? |

DS Lite has adjustable brightness, it's smaller and weighs less, plus it has a better battery.
The covers are not replaceble, but you can buy stickers ('skins') to funk up your DS They are available in several colours depending on where you live. Europe has black and white at the moment, the old 'fat' one was silver, pink and blue. US has black, white and pink Lites, not sure what colours the regular is available in (if you can still buy them that is). |

Europe has pink DS lite too.. I love my DS lite. It fits in my hands and it's light. I've tried the old one, but it's much harder to hold, especially if you have to use the buttons..

Also, they linked to the French trailer for The Sinking Island (graphics look like it's the PC version, though): http://gametrailers.com/player/21111.html |

Wow... those skins look really good. It's going to take me ages just to choose one!

Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village is coming to the U.S. this year, according to Wired's Chris Kohler.
http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/07/...sor-layto.html According to GoNintendo.com, it will be titled Professor Layton and the Curious Village, and will be released December 3rd. http://gonintendo.com/?p=21115 |

I believe Dec. 3rd is actually when it's coming to the PC. The DS version is apparently still in development.

Hah, nevermind. Something I heard but I think that guy was confused. Or I'm confused. Either way, the Dec. 3rd date stands as far as I know. I'll look into what he might have been talking about and report back if I find anything interesting.

Yeah, I don't think there will be a PC release at all. Here's what Wired's blog says in a newer post: "Professor Layton and the Curious Village (the official English name) is on track for a December release courtesy of Nintendo themselves." If Nintendo is localizing it, I highly doubt it will be on anybut but DS. Link to quote: http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/07/...-con.html#more

Great! I was hoping for a Professor Layton release. No news on a European version, but the DS is region-free, so no problem there.

It looks fun. I love the idea of all the logic puzzles in there (even if they won't always be completely integrated in the story).

Didn't see it mentioned, but Touch Detective 2 1/2 is set to be released later this year in North America by Atlus. Originally listed as Holiday '07, the Rep in this video says it will be available in October.
Video feature Walkthru of Tutorial Level, so Slight Spoilers http://www.gamespot.com/video/0/6175...up=e32007_live Edit: Gamestop has added a listing for Touch Detective 2 1/2. It's currently set to ship out on October 9. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=180358 Last edited by yanya; 07-18-2007 at 06:34 PM. Reason: Added link to Gamestop. |
