Default Lucas Classic Line - adventure re-releases in the UK

I did a quick search and did not find this topic, so don't flame me too much if it is a repeat, my intentions are good!

I was surfing on RPGdot today and came accross a news item back from Nov. 20 that said that many of the LucasArts adventure games are being re-released in the UK.

They say Grim Fandango, The Curse of Monkey Island, Full Throttle, and The Dig will be re-released.

I did a quick check on Amazon.co.uk and it is TRUE. It looks like some have already been released and even more adventures (such as Sam & Max Hit the Road and DOTT) are scheduled for a Jan 12, 2007 release.

Great news for our UK friends, unfortunately on this one, I am from Canada.

Cheers,
Stain

I'm sure you can find a site that will. Why they don't rerelease the MI box collection I dont' know.

Look at the price! I am sure they were available for less before. I bought the combination of Sam & Max and DOTT for £7.86 ( much cheaper than the current single offering) from Amazon UK.

Looking at the box shot on Amazon, it appears that Sam & Max and DOTT are sold together, although it is still pricier than what you had paid.

I have no idea why those are marked as preorders, since all of these games have already been released on the LucasArts Classics line...

they're probably pre-orders because this is a new release, not just a re-boxed release of the older titles. I will have a look too because i wouldn't mind getting hold of the Dig which i only ever played on my AMIGA 2000. I would like to play that game again, it was great... also some of the others like DOTT i never actually played.. so that would be great to get into...

im still battling thru keepsake, its not interesting enough to keep me playing for more than an hour at a time.. i bought it last semester

ah well...

I'd be extremely, extremely surprised if this is anything other than a mistake on Amazon's part.

We have these in Norwegian stores too. The Dig and full throttle have I seen for about a year, "curse of monkey island" just arrived to a price of 199kr, about 30$.

Isn't that the price of a cup of coffee in Oslo?

So this thread has become about the price of coffee in Oslo now? Well, here is my contribution. $10 is certainly wrong. It's more like $15. But then you get a really big cup. Like, half a gallon or something..

On topic the LA "rerelease" has been available here for about 2 years now. It's ~€2 per game. I got Sam n Max + Day of the tentacle for €15 two years ago. Keep in mind that they come in DVD-cases with no manual, but hey it doesn't consume that much space and is cheaper so I'm happy.

Btw, a cup of coffee is ~€2.5 in Sweden.
